The staff was great and very welcoming and the breakfast was super good.

The location is just perfect: some rooms have a direct view of the sea and within two minutes you can walk down to the beach. Everything was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The equipment is excellent yet authentic – balcony, fridge, clothes rack and Wi-Fi, everything you need. The atmosphere is calm and idyllic, ideal for relaxing and letting your mind unwind. The host family was incredibly warm and welcoming. On a hot day the kind owner even brought us ice-cold water and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our stay. In the morning we enjoyed a lovingly prepared, traditional Greek breakfast. All in all, a truly wonderful stay that we would recommend to anyone. We will definitely come back!

The accommodation provides free shuttle service and a shared kitchen for guests. The hosts were wonderful. They served us a beautiful breakfast every morning. There is a famous bakery just opposite the hotel where you can buy the best bread in Greece:) The hotel is charming, with a beautiful yard. Centrally located. Petrounis recommended us a nice taverna at the other end of the main street where we spent every evening. There is a public car park very near the hotel which was very convenient, too. A very good place to visit Mani, explore the coast and swim with the turtles;)

So this was my second year at Ktima Zaxarias, I loved it so much I came all the way for NYC with Kokkala being my first stop and the beginning of my trip in the Mani region. I love how quiet, off the beaten path and the simplicity of it all. The rooms are simple, new and clean, with a fully stocked kitchenette. The property is nestled in fig and olive trees. The beach is clean and right outside the courtyard. George the host, welcomes everyone that stays on his property as if they’re family. I even had an unfortunate occurrence where I stepped on a bee and my foot started to swell. George was ready to rush me to first med, thankfully the Benadryl and some sprays that he had stocked in his first aid kit did the trick. As much as I worry about my secret getting out and people discovering Ktima Zaxarias, it’s such a special place that it’s worth recommending. See you in 2024 🙏🏻

The location was fantastic - so close to the museum, shops and restaurants. We stayed in a separate private apartment within the courtyard of the family home. We felt extremely privileged to have the opportunity to stay with Nickolas and Stavroula and have an authentic experience of Greek family life. The terrace where we had our breakfast and drinks in the evening was private with wonderful views of the coast and traditional Maniot towers. Nickolas and Stavroula were very hospitable and helpful.
