EVERYTHING! you can't beat the location, right in downtown Reykjavik but far enough so you don't get noise. The place is super clean and cozy, my room was pretty small but it didn't feel like it, I had to work from my computer that afternoon and I set up at the desk with a lovely view from the window. Breakfast is basic but good. I like that you can check-in by yourself. For some reason I didn't get the email with my pin code, but I called the number on the booking and they were SO nice and quickly sent me the info. I don't think you'll get a better stay for this price, it's worth every krona! I'll definitely stay here again when I return to Iceland.

Of the ten locations we stayed in Iceland this was our favourite. If I could give it 11 ot of 10 I would. It is the kind of place I would move to Iceland to live in. Beautiful scenery; quiet - you could not tell that you were 10 minutes from central Reykjaiv. You feel like you are a millionaire - beautiful beach to stroll along; horses to pet a golf course to walk around. There is even a sauna and hot tubs. The room was great with a lovely en-suite.
Reykjavík 101, Reykjavík
Located in the calm Thingholt neighbourhood, this family-owned guest house is in Reykjavik is just 450 metres from the shopping Laugavegur Street. Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre is 1.2 km away. There is free WiFi, a communal kitchen and free laundry facilities. The Guesthouse is close to the city center and bus terminals. (BSI and Reykjavík terminals) Supermarkets and Pastry shops are close by. Sights are within walking distance. Closest meeting points for tours pick up are Bus stop 2 or 3. We stayed in a small room, but it had a queen size bad, a table, 3 chairs, a closet, shelves and a sink. Towels, soap, toilette paper and linen were provided. 3-4 rooms shared one batrhroom with a shower and a toilette. We were lucky, there was no one else on our floor during our stay. The breakfast had ham, cheese, boiled eggs, jams, nutella, liquid joghurt, butter, tomatoe, cucumber, milk, coffee, tea, cereals, apple and orange juice, various kinds of bread. It has a fully equipped kitchen, that you can use all day long. Complementary coffee and tea available all day long. You can leave your bag for free on the day of departure.
Reykjavík 101, Reykjavík
Eric the Red is a perfectly located Guest House in Reykjavik just 60m/200ft from Hallgrímskirkja Church which is the biggest church and single most central point in Reykjavik, we are in short walking distance from all the best Reykjavik has to offer, whether it’s Museums, Restaurants, Cafés, Bars, Shopping Streets, Parks, the BSi bus station, Geothermal Swimming pools or Lake Tjörnin, and yet positioned in a quiet area of the center. It has been my "layover" between two flights. Because domestic airport is located close to center of Reykjavik, I choosed the Red guesthouse which is licated in-between downtown (10 minutes walk) and BSI - cental bus hub (10 minutes walk). Before even booking, I was attracted by friendly description with many small, but quite important details. Reality was above my expectations... Extremely clean and cozy, quite old (I believe) authentic icelandik house which remembers many inhabitants, their happy and sad days, love stories and laugh of kids. There are many pictures on the walls, some of them are real oil on canva pices of art, some are introducing modern (NOT conteporary! :)) art. Every corner, every little shelf is well designed and "on a right place". Kitchen is well equipped - possible to accomplish quite complicated receipts. Eric is a very positive and friendly person, easy available and helpful by phone. A few another customers were smiling and friendly - seems that interior and atmosphere of this house affects people in a good way. My only regret is that I spent only one night there and didn't have enough time to really enjoy this place. I'm already looking forward my next trip to Reykjavik. Thank you very much Eric! You and your staff are great! Eugene Snezhkin Nóvember 14, 2024

Lovely new, clean hostel, the staff were really great and helpful and it is a short (easy, 5-10 minute) walk from the Central bus station and a short, nice walk (10 minutes) to the city centre. It is cheaper than the hostels right in the city centre and excellent value for money. Plus the WiFi was brilliant. Definitely recommend👍
The guesthouse is very strategically close both to the city centre and the bus terminal (from which the buses to the airport depart directly, with no need to book for the drop off/ pick up service), but at the same is in a quiet and very green residential area. The room is small (but it was clear from the pictures posted, so no surprises there) but very clean and comfortable. Thorey was a great host and ready to help when I called her before arriving, and left very specific instructions for us regarding our stay. Lovely dog too!
Lovely choice of common sitting areas. Great buffet breakfast - loads of variety and choice. Great location just a short stroll to city centre and shops. Next to the old working marina. Plenty of places to eat nearby but be aware if Icelandic prices - great quality food but not cheap - not the hotel’s fault in any way.
Treasure is an excellent choice in Reykjavík. Close to everything but on a quiet street. Excellent breakfast and the room felt like a good value. Great host.
Great location, close to city centre but yet quiet. Helpful instructions before arrival. Parking spot was a plus. Appartment is nicely decorated and welcoming.
The location is in a really great part of town. Right next to the park. It's a little bit away from Reykjavik city center so it's quiet and calm and close enough to get to rekjavik by bus or long walk. Very nice. The hostel was clean and quiet and good lighting and water. The kitchen and laundry facility were such a treat very nice and clean. The staff was super nice and helpful with anything I needed. Will definitely come back here. 👍
Very good price for a single room in Reykjavik, was even cheaper than dorm-beds in some hostels! Good location, only a few minutes walk to city center. Supermarket next door, still the street itself is rather quiet. Very clean and also has basic equipment for cooking.
Baron's Hostel is cheap, super clean, with very confortable beds. Dormitories are small, thus quiet. The hosts are charming and very helpful. The location is excellent, close to city centre and BSI. There's an excellent swimming pool just accross the street, with hot pots to relax after a busy day. I could'nt wish for a better place to stay in Reykjavik.
Access to the guesthouse is by email instructions which were clear and helpful. This is one of the cheapest hotels available at the moment in Reykjavik but the room was clean and bright. Wifi was good, shared bathroom also clean - if rather small - and the staff helpful. Bed was basic but comfortable and I slept well. The hotel is in a good location near to the city centre but in a quiet area.
