During our stay, we had the rare opportunity to enjoy a live performance of traditional dance, Tsugaru shamisen, and folk songs. It was absolutely mesmerizing to watch and to learn the stories and traditions behind each performance. We were especially delighted that a kimono sensei was present to guide us step-by-step on how to properly wear a kimono, making the experience even more authentic and meaningful. What made it even more special was being able to participate in a hands-on session where we learned some of the dance steps ourselves. This gave us a much deeper appreciation for the local culture and traditions, creating memories we will cherish forever. The next morning, we enjoyed a relaxing breakfast with freshly brewed coffee and tea, accompanied by their delicious farm-produced honey. Knowing that the honey was lovingly made by the family on their own farm, surrounded by the beautiful natural landscapes of Aomori, made it taste even more special. This stay was the perfect blend of cultural immersion, local flavors, and genuine hospitality. We are truly grateful for the kindness, joy, and unforgettable experiences shared by the host and their family. Nambu Town is a fascinating place and truly a hidden gem. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic and heartwarming experience.

We spent three wonderful days in Hirosaki, a charming and authentic town that still feels untouched by mass tourism. It was refreshing to explore a place where the pace is slower and the culture feels so genuine. The absolute highlight of our stay was Guest House Chara, run by the kindest elderly couple, Fusao and Toshiko. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home—it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it truly felt like staying with family. Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. Tanehachi Farm Guesthouse - Vacation STAY 29709v se nachází v destinaci Aomori. Aomori Prefectural Kyodokan se nachází 19 km daleko a Aomori železniční stanice 21 km. I like the guesthouse is surrounded by the nature, the closest train station is Asamushi station, it’s about 5-6 stops away from Aomori station. The guesthouse owner Taku can offer pick-up/drop-off at Asamushi station. BTW, Asamushi is famous for onsen(hot spring). Since the house is in the middle of nature so there’s no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, but you can purchase dinner and breakfast, Taku’s wife, Kaori, makes very delicious and healthy food, must try it!

Close drive to Hirosaki Castle. They were very hospitable and kind despite our Japanese not being the that good. They served us a very unique dinner course that included duck and BEAR! It was super tasty very worth the value! We talked about anime and music up until midnight it was very enjoyable experience.

Comfortable, very clean and new, nicely furnished, well equipped, cheap. It genuinely felt even better than staying in my own house, and I would have loved to stay many days more there. The host is also really nice and gave us good recommendations about sightseeing in the area.

It was a house that one can feel the warm hospitality from the host Tama-San and his wife and certainly the 25 lovely cats. The room was clean and the common room was nicely decorated. We are thankful that the host also treated us a wonderful breakfast. It was impressive experience to eat in with lots of cars surrounding you. They are lovely!
