I only stayed for one night to be close to Nokogiri Mt. for hiking, but Ken-ken was extremely helpful and generous while I was there. One of my favorite memories from my two week trip to Japan will be my stay in this little town of Hota, much thanks to Ken-ken's hospitality and guidance for places to visit and eat at while I stayed. He recommended the cutest izakaya when I told him I was looking for dinner and a few beers called Rest Inn Wassup! The owner and cook there were so nice, and we had a good time visiting even though we were mostly speaking through Google Translate. Please don't be afraid to visit this little town if you want to see some authentic Japanese small-town life and great hiking. I was able to get around fairly easily, but be aware the public transportation is limited and it can get dark in the neighborhood at night. Rest assured, though, if you stay with Ken-ken, he will make your stay comfortable and worthwhile!

Set in Noda, within 13 km of Mashimori Shrine and 14 km of Nagata Park, Jiji-Baba house offers accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Minami Central Park is 16 km away and Shinkoshigaya Varie is 17 km from the guest house. -The host couple were very welcoming and friendly. They were always very helpful and made my stay feel amazing. -The house is possibly one of the most uniquely decorated house in Japan, full of retro memorabilia from cars, comics and movies. The house is an old style Japanese house, so it is a good experience in itself. -The area around is very peaceful -good Wi-Fi speed, I worked remotely there with no issues. There is also aircon in the room, and on clear days you can also see Mt. Fuji. -there are supermarkets close to the station with a big variety of delicious cheap food that you can eat in

Upon arrival, Kai instructed us extremely well into the house and the facility. The house itself is in mint shape and offers everything for a perfect stay. It’s a very authentic house that let’s one enjoy rural Japan. We couldn’t use the outside facilities due to the weather but could well imagine how cozy the front yard would be during the summer. We will definitely come back to this beautiful retreat. Thanks again for having us!

The guest house is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Our room was definitely idiosyncratic, with a great mixture of flea-market findings, real and almost antiques, big windows and lots of space. Public areas were also fun, continuing the comfortable, off-beat vibe. A little frayed at the edges, though very clean. Friendly staff.

The hosts were amazingly helpful, they made everything so easy and gave great suggestions on what to do around the area. The breakfast was lovely and the room was very comfortable.

Free luggage storage is available on the ground floor. The place was very clean and everything had been thought of. We loved the layout of the place. If I go to Narita again, I will stay here.
