Every single dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The peaceful riverside setting and cozy interior made it feel like a hidden gem.

Guests at the guest house can enjoy an American or an Asian breakfast. Masako San was a fantastic host and the house and rice farm was like taking a step back in time. The surrounding was quite peaceful and the food that was provided was excellent. Masako San was so kind to drive us to and from the train station and the train ride from Kyoto was convenient. It is wonderful to get some good county air and get some great sleep

The property is non-smoking and is set 21 km from Kehi Jingu Shrine. An incredible hotel in a beautiful part of the countryside! The host was very accommodating and exceptionally kind. Staying here was a wonderful experience and I seriously recommend it to anyone visiting Shiga!

For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. It’s a traditional Japanese cabin in the mountains. The shoji screens and the zen garden made it a really relaxing and cozy visit. One of my favorite accommodations through my journey in Japan. They have WiFi, and a modern toilet. The kitchen is a bit old and not up to modern standards but it works just fine. If you want a place away from the bustling cities, and really want to relax and also get a feel for an authentic Japanese cabin I can highly recommend it. Word of advice is to get food before you arrive as it is far from any stores, but I was informed of this before arrival so I had time to plan. The hostess was super friendly and very helpful It’s an old cabin and it shows, don’t expect a newly renovated house, but it gave it an authentic feeling. There’s also no AC, but with it being in the mountains and the shoji screens it didn’t get too hot at night. Also the insects make a lot of noise Wish I stayed more than one night
