The building is very nice. All the beautiful wood and features. Taking your shoes off at entree, sliding doors, gymnasium, kitchen. Amazing. Even more amazing was the staff. The explained every thing well, gave recommendations for food and travel. I even got lucky and hitched a ride back to Nakatsugawa, with a perfect pitstop at Hillbilly Coffee (highly recommend). I stayed here after walking Nakasendo Trail from Tsumago. Perfect place to stay after. Do not hesitate. Go here. Book!

Close to 来宮駅 Kinomiya Station just next to Atami. I could walk to Kinomiya shrine from the hotel. Nice view from the room seeing birds and squirrel and I could see the Hatsushima Island. It is very peaceful atmosphere around this area. The Hotel was clean and a nice big size. Private spring bath was great! There was a large window in the lounge room morning sun shine straight through. Owner of this hotel was very kind and helpful. I am very happy to find this Hotel.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Beautiful traditional room. Great water pressure in the shower. 10min walk to the station . Very friendly staff

I'm afraid my words will not be enough to express how much I loved my stay here. Kenさん and Yukiさん were extremely welcoming. I enjoyed my conversations with them, learning about Magome-juku, umeshu, and many other things despite my very lacking Japanese skills. When it was time for me to leave and embark on my hike to Tsumago-juku, they ran after me to give me a bottle of iced water to help me with the summer heat. I almost teared up from their kindness. I was on a solo trip for my birthday and they gave me the most memorable moment of my trip. Other things to note about this guesthouse: Room: I'm not sure about the other rooms but I secured the best one. It had an amazing view of Magome-juku. There is only a futon but it was very comfortable. The room is air-conditioned and although not sound-proof, Magome is quiet and you can hear the peaceful sounds of water flowing through the canals at night. Shared spaces: The shared spaces include the dining area, living area, toilets, showers, and an indoor bath. There is also a laundry area which you can use for a small fee (about 500 yen if I'm not mistaken). Reception is not 24/7 and the lights out is at 10pm I think. The shared spaces are not only clean, but they're also beautifully designed! Lots of dried flowers as decoration. Meals: You can opt to have dinner and breakfast here again for a small fee. Dinner is Indian curry and let me just say-- it was delicious! I had the spicy chicken keema, although personally I wish it was a bit spicier. The homemade yogurt was simply amazing. Breakfast is a simple spread of eggs, bread, yogurt, cereals, a variety of fruits, and drinks such as homemade juice and coffee from the coffee shop down the street. This was again very good and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I feel like Magome is a one-time destination because of its size, but I definitely want to come back and stay at sakanomichi again!

The building and the rooms are super traditional and charming and spacious and comfortable. There was a shaved ice machine and prepared ice and sirup, very tasty! Fantastic location, there is a great temple right next to it. The host was super friendly and helpful, he made the stay great!

The location is very near JR Shingu station with restaurants, konbini and a supermarket nearby. Host is very accommodating and very helpful with all my needs.

海好きな大人の隠れ家下田ハウス se nachází v destinaci Šimoda a poskytuje ubytování s zahradou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm, sdíleným loungem a terasou. Mys Koibito Misaki je 39 km daleko. It was such a nice and relaxing place to be. I stayed there during tsunami warning so I spent almost my whole two days there. The Onsen near the guesthouse is marvellous, and we did a sauna session at one evening as well. We've had dinner together and on the first evening he offered us sashimi, because he's been out fishing and caught a nice one. Loved to practise my japanese skills - thank you for everything!
