We rented motorbikes and they gave us good guidance on what to do in the area. The location is super peaceful and away from the hustle of Ahangama, so probably best to have a motorbike (although we also walked to the beach & cafes).

The owners and staff are wonderful, friendly, laid back people who make you feel at home and extremely well looked after, give you all information about the town, places to eat or party and transport that you need. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The surf lessons are also great, I had never surfed before and was able to learn very fast. But I would recommend the guesthouse even if you don't surf. It was an excellent experience.

The room was spacious, clean, and offered stunning ocean views. The peaceful atmosphere made for a truly relaxing experience. Asanka and the team taking care of the villa are always ready to greet with a warm smile. The room was clean and loved the outdoor shower we had in our room which was so relaxing and beautiful. There is a hot/cold water dispenser in the dining area and tea and coffee was made available whenever we wanted one. We asked if a tuktuk could be arranged for us to head out for dinner and it was arranged. When we returned from the dinner the night shift caretaker was waiting for us and greeted us with big smiles. The highlight of our stay would probably be the breakfast that Asanka arranged, I requested a Srilankan breakfast with a little bit of every variety, he did not disappoint.Thank you Asanka and team and Stephane for running such a beautiful place.

The manager and the staff make you feel super welcome and make everything easy and possible. Perfect location by the beach. Definitely recommend!

Set in Hikkaduwa, 100 metres from Narigama beach and 17 km from Galle International Cricket Stadium, Alvas house offers air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. With garden views, this accommodation provides a balcony. Outdoor seating is also available at the guest house. Susanna and Tusharo (please excuse me if I’m misspelling the names :) were wonderful hosts. Welcoming and informative. It really felt like our own house. Spotless clean, equipped with everything a traveler needs, beautiful nature around, a garden well kept. Another great thing is the hosts really care about animals and Tusharo shared fascinating information about the connection local people share with the sea turtles (we got lucky and swam with them). The beach has some great surf. Would love to come back and stay more.
