I booked this property based on a review written by a family similar to ours. And the open air bathroom. We are a family of 4 with a 5 yr old girl and 2 year old boy. We rented the large family suite and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Less then 5 mins from the beach, large comfortable double beds with mosquito nets, a shared kitchenette, large comfortable bathroom with hot water and AC. The owners were such lovely accommodating people. The best part was the location. Hiritekiya is an Instagramy digital nomady hotspot, and Jungle Escape is located in the less developed part of the beach. So we were close to everything but in a more tranquil environment.

The Surf Lodge is beautifully decorated with a lot of love and taste. It offers amazing breakfast and a direct access to the beach. It is managed by the super kind Che who was always very attentive to help us organize a few things around the area. What we particularly loved about the hotel (apart from the amazing spacious rooms and the delicious (vegetarian) food) was that it is Che’s family home and has such a friendly and calming vibe :) it’s only a short walk to local restaurants and bars and Madiha’s main beach is also only a few minutes away. This property is a hidden oasis, you can sit in the garden and watch so many native Sri Lankan animals pass through, monkeys, squirrels, lizards, the energy is tranquil and the staff are lovely, we loved it so much we extended our stay. Great value for money.

The modern and cosy decoration of the room. The room was clean and spacious. The area in front of the room and the hammock are very comfortable and appreciated. The owners have been very nice and helpful. The location is great.

Great location, right by the beach! The beach is great for a swim and less than a 5min walk to Turtle point where you can snorkel and see fish and turtles! Great and varied breakfast with a view. The room is beautifully designed and was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay!

I would recommend this place to everyone. The staff is the best, i felt very welcomed and was taken care of almost like a family member. Big thanks to Mr. And Mrs. Dias and Jehan which made my stay outstandig. The breakfast was delicious and the little suprises made it so special. The rooms are just as in the pictures and the staff is taking very good care of the property.. It is very near to a big supermarket and the beach is just across the street.

The room is spacious and comfortable with a nice private bathroom and all the amenities you could need. The Wi-Fi works perfectly, which is very important to me. And I absolutely love the garden. Also, Kiwayne is really welcoming and helpful.
