My family and I really liked the open courtyard of the sihwadang. The space was really big even for 5 people + large luggages. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were complete. It was also close to accessible stations and the Dongmyo Flea Market which was really the best part. The owner was also very kind to meet us during check-in and help us with our bags. She gave us dried persimmons to try too! I could not find any fault in this place. It made our stay in Seoul very memorable and comfortable.

It’s meticulously clean, quiet and well located. The bathrooms are beautifully fitted with plenty of facilities to accommodate guests. The hostel shared accommodations are very comfortable and fairly private.

I stayed at Gyedong Hanok 125 with two friends, and it was the highlight of our trip to Seoul. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Bukchon, with Gyedong-gil just around the corner and both Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces within walking distance. It felt amazing to step outside and explore historic alleys, cafés, and local shops so easily. The hanok itself is beautiful—modern amenities inside a traditional setting. A wonderful accommodation! You can see all the thought and detail that went into this place. It was so clean and well stocked. There’s also a full size separate washer and dryer. The beds were very comfortable. Communication with the host is very easy and they are very responsive. The neighborhood is super cute with charming cafes and restaurants.

After booking on Booking.com, I promptly received a detailed message from the owner outlining the room details, check-in process, and available facilities—a fantastic first impression! To reach the accommodation, I took the Airport Bus directly to Changdeokgung Palace in central Seoul, close to other palaces and traditional Hanok villages. The bus ride was about an hour, followed by a 10-minute walk to the accommodation. Alternatively, you can take the subway from Incheon International Airport to Seoul station and from there take line no. 3 to Anguk station exit 4 followed by a 10 minutes walk as well to the stay. Staying in a traditional Hanok village in the heart of Seoul was truly unique. I chose this place for its central location and convenient transportation, and it exceeded my expectations. Everything matched the online description perfectly. The facilities were modern yet cozy, and spotlessly clean. The hot shower had excellent water pressure, and the traditional Korean underfloor heating system (Ondol) kept the room warm and comfortable. The thick, comfortable mattresses ensured a great night’s sleep. Overall, this was a one-of-a-kind experience, and I highly recommend this trustworthy house to anyone seeking a clean, comfortable, and uniquely Korean stay in Seoul.
