This place was amazing! It was so cool to stay in one of the blackhouse! A living piece of history! They have updated it beautifully and it was so cozy and wonderful. It was just the experience we were looking for on the island!

The house was very comfortable and practical for us in a great location, the host was very friendly and helpful. A lovely place for a holiday. We didn't expect to want and appreciate the air conditioner in Lewis, but the weather was so warm. Efficient and easy to operate cooker.

My host, Rosemary, was exceptionally thoughtful and gracious. When I arrived, I discovered a welcome platter of fruits, cheeses, charcuterie, and freshly baked bread. She checked-in with me periodically during my stay to see if I needed anything. The property was an immaculate one-bedroom house on the seashore. The arched ceilings and windows from floor to ceiling illuminated the white interior beautifully. It was a very bright and cheery place to spend several days. Rosemary has a no shoes in the house policy—same as I do back home—which kept the white floors sparkling clean. I cooked most days and the kitchen was outfitted with all the necessary appliances, cutlery, cookware, and serving dishes. The location was a 5-minute drive from Stornoway center and it was a beautiful 20-30 minute walk along the shore into town.
