A very cool place in the middle of the tiny mountainous village of Hiruela, north of Madrid. We are a couple and we had the entire house to ourselves, two floors, two bedrooms, a fireplace, a kitchen, a washing machine and so on. It's a renovated village house that is modern and comfortable with a lot of special character. This was probably the coolest place we've stayed in Spain, initially we planned to stay for one night, but after arriving decided to book another night so can fully enjoy the place. There are few short walks around the village and I did several of them, the nicest one was through the forest and valley/stream beneath the village. It was so small, and maybe because of the pandemic everything was closed, no restaurants or shops, so we had to come with our own supplies but that's not a problem. There were two adorable village dogs that came along with us to the walks, and stayed outside our house waiting for us, which was really fun because we love dogs. The hostess was super friendly, didnt speak English but waited for us in the pouring rain when we came in the evening, and after that we communicated by writing (using google translate), she provided us with timber for the fireplace and was very helpful.

I travel a lot for work (I stay in business 4/5* hotels 1/3 of the year). This was by far one of the best accommodations I have stayed at. It was super clean. It was quiet. The kitchen was designed in a way that you could actually use it. There were lots of pots, pans, cutlery and even basic food items. And everything functioned as it should and was super clear. The host was extremely friendly and thoughtful. She went beyond all efforts to make sure I had a comfortable stay. It was very clear from the design of the house that she had considered both comfort as well as practical perspectives for all details. Contrary to most other accommodation, here I truly felt at home. The home was warm (it was a cold night) and cozy, with plenty of natural daylight (but also good curtains and shutters for privacy/darkness). The location was wonderful. It's walking distance from the train station (I came by train from Madrid). It's super close to multiple grocery stores. The village is beautiful and the mountains (recommended for a day trip) are amazing. I truly look forward to go back here some day.

Cabaña en la naturaleza har utsikt över staden och erbjuder boende med en balkong, 43 km från Debods tempel. Our host was very accommodating and friendly. If we needed anything, we could just contact him on WhatsApp. We arrived early at the house, but he allowed us to check in. the house had a quaint charm with wooden shutters on the windows. There were two outdoor seating areas which were wonderful for sitting in the evenings or eating a light meal. Wifi worked very well. The grocery store was a short drive away and with the kitchen facilities we were able to prepare our meals. Great place!

Villa Elisa Plaza Mayor har utsikt över staden och erbjuder boende med en balkong, 45 km från Reina Sofia Museum. The lovely balcony with the fantastic view made our stay incredible. The entire house was clean and the owner was very kind.
