The property owners live in the basement apartment but are completely unintrusive and extremely friendly. We were grateful for some excellent local tips for great beaches and restaurants. The local area is wonderful; the quiet vibe of Haleiwa almost the complete antithesis of Honolulu/Waikiki which remains eminently accessible by road. Ignore previous reviews about the pool: it's very private, was always spotlessly clean, and was lovely for a refreshing dip after a long day out at the beach or local attractions. There are small air conditioners in every room. They're not super powerful but they're enough to take the edge off for a comfortable night especially in combination with the ceiling fans. House rules and check in instructions were fair and clear, respectively. Highlights for us were the outstanding location, the amazing lanai with ocean views (we saw humpbacks breaching over evening cocktails), and the quiet privacy combined with access to the best that Oahu has to offer.

Absolutely fabulous accommodation, bed was so comfortable you didn’t want to get up. Excellent shower with body wash etc., kitchen had everything you can possibly need during your stay. We had use of beach chairs which were a god send to go & watch the sunset. Very nice pool opposite accommodation, towel’s are provided Location is perfect, can walk to hotel for cocktails & snacks. There is a van in walking distance where you can have shaved ice & purchase fresh fruit Washer & dryer which included powder & scented dryer sheets We would highly recommend staying here without a doubt 5*

The location couldn’t be more perfect for a vacation on the North Shore beaches of Oahu! The grounds were so beautiful and well kept. The view from the balcony was spectacular! The main house and guest house were so beautiful and a perfect fit for our group of 16 adults. Each couple had their own bedroom and were very comfortable! Everyone agreed it was the best vacation Airbnb we’ve stayed in! They were so accommodating and helpful which made our stay even better. We couldn’t have been happier with our week and hope we can come back again soon!

Guests at the holiday home will be able to enjoy activities in and around Waialua, like fishing and hiking. Snorkelling, windsurfing and diving are possible within the area, and Mokulē'ia Beach Houses at Owen's Retreat offers water sports facilities. Loved the location and access to quiet beach. We had yellow hut which has 2 bedrooms and plenty of room, loads of outdoor space. Owners and caretaker are lovely. Hopefully we will come again one day.
