The day we stayed there was a big celebration for the Indonesian Independence Day (Aug 17th) next door, which added some nice extra experience with fire dancing and fireworks.

The holiday park offers a continental or American breakfast. Very thoughtful attitude towards guests, with nice little touches. When I checked in, they gave me a map of the island, marked where everything is, and recommended places to visit. The private jacuzzi in the bungalow is just amazing. The pool is beautiful, with lovely lighting in the evening. Breakfast is very pleasant. Everything is well thought-out, harmonious, beautiful, and made with love!

The units at the holiday park come with a seating area. The holiday park offers certain units that feature sea views, and the units are fitted with a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. At the holiday park, all units include bed linen and towels. I like the room very clean, the view very gorgeous, the beach very calm perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The staff is very friendly.

This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. One of the best locations on the island and great beach in the front. Staff extremely friendly, excellent breakfast. Cleaning of bungalows daily. That's all you need!

This beachfront property offers access to a balcony. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Had an amazing stay at Unzipp. Dedi, the person running the show is a great host! It's right by the beach so you've got an easy snorkeling access at all times. Food here is a highlight as well. Highly recommended!

Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. A beautiful boutique resort in Gili Asahan! Lovely and clean room, comfortable bed. Stunning area. They provide us a free boat, and free sauna and ice bathing, free mask for snorkeling, SUP board and kayak. Even they have a free place for yoga as well. The restaurant had delicious food and all staffs are very kind and helpful. We really enjoyed to stay here:)

The rooms have terraces with seating area. Free private parking is also available. Bed linen is provided. Lovely hotel with exceptional rooms. Everything was very clean and neat. The linen smelt amazing too! The pool was a lovely way to spend a hot afternoon. The owners make sure you are comfortable and have everything you may need. Laundry on site at 10k for 1kg, very good value. You can also buy drinks on site to enjoy by the pool.

Located in Gili Air, 5 km from Gili Trawangan, Dolcemare Resort features a 27-metre long natural style swimming pool, a separate kids pool and 2 waterfalls. It has a common area and a big garden with a private area for kids. Free WiFi connection is available throughout. Dolcemare is a family run facility. We enjoyed that the resort was located in a quiet part of the island but still centrally located. There is a mosque on the island as it is predominantly Muslim community and you can hear the call to prayer but it is something you must bear in mind when traveling and respect other religions. Since I am a light sleeper I did hear it in the morning, however it didn’t bother me. My partner never even stirred. Plus the resort provides guests with earplugs should they wish to use them. They also have a restaurant on the premises and we enjoyed the free breakfast. It is not a buffet breakfast but you have plenty of options to choose from and everything is freshly made. Since I am sensitive to gluten I especially enjoyed that they provide a gluten-free option which is not widely available in Indonesia. We also had dinner at the restaurant and the portions were delicious and generous. All in all, the staff was friendly and the island was a welcome change to the hustle and bustle of Bali. Gili Air and Dolcemare make you feel welcome and let you enjoy the chill vibes of what we imagined Bali might’ve been a couple of decades ago. 10/10 can’t wait to return!

Plus, it’s just a quick walk from the island’s best pizza at Mama’s Pizza—the best pizza we've had outside of Italy.
