The best part of the property is the staff. Owner, Tyson welcomed me explained everything needed. A young lady working at the cafe (Diza, sorry if I mistaken the name)made me one of the best meals in Indonesia I’ve ever tried. Sweet dog and cat were also welcoming and slept under my room’s door at night.The room was simple but very clean with beautiful garden setting. The location is a little bit out of town, but walkable and very quiet. Tyson also organized a jungle trek for me and that was also very good. We saw 8 orangutans)

I did the 2 day/1 night Trek. The 2 guides Rian and Santa were the best guides I’ve encountered anywhere in all my years of traveling. They were so kind, funny and thoughtful. The food on the trek was phenomenal and it really was a wonderful experience. The property is great, with a beautiful lush green garden.

Staff is amazing, food is great and also the location which is deeper in the jungle. Only accessible by motorbike, but the staff is super flexible and take you up and down to the town whenever you want (not needed and not expected but we tipped them a bit every time). We saw so many orangutans with them! Even when taking the trip to the batcave, but I think we were lucky. Would definitely recommend Batu Kapal!

The most beautiful people i ever stayed with And beautiful room with an amazing atmosphere Quite and peaceful,the bed so comfortable the bathroom with really nice decorations and good shower and it was super clean and well decorated.To get to this bungalow really easy access and you can get something good in super market (indomaret)just about 5 minute away with scooter, The view of the ricefield and the green surrounding is just what I looking for. They organize my jungle trekking with the best guide (jipur,aji and bagus)for 3 days 2 night Which is so great and fun So much knowledge of the jungle,animals and medical plants. Thank you very much for everything We will definitely come back jungle brothers Best regard Liam & Julie

A magnificent place! You are really in the jungle there, but in a cosy, luxurious space and with a great community. You can see wildlife right outside the porch. The good was also super nice, I especially loved the breakfast, plenty of vegan options. I am definitely going back there again in the future!

It was great staying in Grandma guest house! If you want to stay in a place with local people and have good memories with them, this is the one! Yusuf and his family are really friendly and they are always available to help you with what you need. I spend also some time with the kids from his foundation (kolibri house) and it was really nice to meet and be with them :) Thank you for all your kindness!

Grat place, staff and facilities. Full solution from Airport till Lake Toba, really worth it. Both the transport (safe and on time) and trekking services were superstandard.     We had an awesome stay at Sama Sama Homestay. The owners are so welcoming, kind and friendly, so we directly felt comfortable. The brewed us delicious coffee each day and were always up for some nice and interesting smalltalk. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and we especially liked the balcony area to take some coffee and relax. We recommend a stay here!!

    Arif is a very friendly host. Great room, directly in nature. Keep in mind that the homestay is quite far away, especially when you have heavy luggage. But they offer a porter service.

    Alek is the most helpful homestay host we have had. He managed to sort out our 3D2N trek the night before we wanted to go and he lent us his bike to travel to an ATM. The location is ideal and lots of nice places to eat right outside. Well worth the price!!

    Arif and Risky are great hosts. The hotel is 30 minutes walking into the jungle and in a nice quiet area. Al you can hear is the river flowing by, the animals and the rain on the roof Awesome jungle trekking with Wanda and Juli. And great local food at night made by Risky.
