Mango Homestay on Gili Gede is incredible! In 5-10 years this place will be a lot busier, but in the meantime it is a quiet slice of paradise. There are two homestays on Gili Gede but Mango is located far more ideally than the other one. AtMango you can move freely around the island, but this isn't the cae at the other homestay. I would also mention the meal I ate here was excellent, the room itself was basic but met all my expectations, but most importantly the snorkelling tours of the surrounding slands I organised through the homestay were unreal. Can't recommend visiting the Sekotong Gilis enough!

The staff was really sweet and helpful. They helped us book transport, do laundry, and gave good recommendations for things in the area, and always had a smile. The courtyard itself is beautiful and really peaceful. It was the perfect place to come back to after adventuring for the day. We had banana pancakes every morning for breakfast. They were delicious with a Lombok coffee.

Lovely little cottage with everything you need in a tidy garden. Great responsive hosts ,Ezy and Riska and their little son Zekro. Very good dinners. Fantastic value for money for a stay with locals. Ezy also took us fishing and snorkeling and I saw my first turtle at Layar Island.

Andy the owner is a wonderful guy Smart helpful well traveled with superb English ( lived in Canada) Good location if you are using Lembar ferry port. The google map directions coming from Mataram in north to the villa was extremely wrong and sent me down super skinny 2 km road ( in the dark) where I arrived at old farmhouse across the river ( not crossable by car) from the real location of the hotel which is really located right on the beach I contacted google to tell them to not use this dead end goat path road Checkpossible message here on booking.com from his wife day before or earlier in the day as she may warn you about the incorrect google map routing If you are on the road next to the coast going north or south you are fine If you are driving amidst flooded rice fields crossing tiny bridges as the road gets narrower you are not fine ! The man living at old farmhouse is deaf so knocking on the doir wont evoke a response fyi
