Borja was super nice and helpful as well as very thoughtful! He even gave both of us Xmas gifts which were placed under the Xmas tree! What a surprise! We felt we were at home! The location is excellent! The famous museum is just cross the river. It is not very far to Old Town! We would definitely stay at this place again!

At the suggestion of Correos, we started our Bilbao segment of the Camino del Norte at the Guggenheim Museum and followed the path along the Nervion River the entire distance to Gexto. Gexto Rooms was chosen primarily due to its proximity to the Vizcaya Bridge (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), but was much more! This small hotel seems to be newly renovated with great attention to detail and hospitality. Bathroom was modern and clean and roomy. Bed was very comfortable and linens were of nice quality. Our hosts were gracious, accommodating, and interested in providing a fine stay, which it was! Note for pilgrims: Though not the "official" Way, this alternate route made for an easy warm-up day to begin our hike to Santander. Civil improvements being made to the pedestrian walkway have softened this largely industrial zone and a Lidl supermarket, located about 5 miles in, carried any beverages or snacks you might wish to stock up on. Arriving in Las Arenas early in the afternoon allowed for a relaxed start to our week and time to enjoy the town's beach promenade and sample plenty of pinchos! The following morning, we crossed over to Portugalete via the gondola— an experience that we would've otherwise missed! The Camino's yellow arrow was easy to find on the other side.

The house is located on a hill with a beautiful view of the mountains. It is an ideal place for people who like peace and nature. The house is clean and very functional. It is one of the most beautiful places we have been. The owners are very helpful. Thanks to their recommendations we saw places that are not in the guidebooks. This is a place with a soul and Sara and Javier are people with a huge heart and an empathetic approach to guests. We felt like we were at home. They take care of every detail. There everything harmonizes with nature even the smell of the house. Our stay was made more pleasant by the animals their cat Mickey and dog Zuri. We will want to return there. Sara speaks English very well. Morning coffee in the garden is perfect. It's a perfect place to relax.

I was exceedingly late arriving to Lekuona and Fernando was gracious and communicative. The house is impeccable, extreme attention to detail for the guests comfort; the bed and pillows were of absolute highest quality, I wished I could have stayed there longer just to sleep and rest; the bathroom very clean, great shower, monogrammed towels. Very quiet. I had to leave at dawn to the airport, and it couldn’t have been more conveniently located to drive. I will return to Lekuona.

The accommodation was nice and had everything you needed. It is convenient for Bilbao, close to the train station that has a frequent service into the centre and is in a nice area. The host Jose was fantastic, very welcoming and extremely helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

This is the original idea of a bed&breakfast put in place. There's one room only available to guests, in the same flat where the owners (Barni and Julia) live, but with very good privacy. There's a big private bathroom just outside the room, with all amenities fully working. Both the room and the bathroom were crystal clear, bed quite comfortable. The room has a magnificent view from the 14th floor, we were blessed by an incredible sunset on our arrival day. Breakfast was so rich, varied and tasty (lots of calories !) Barni and Julia are wonderful hosts, helpful and informative at the highest level, excellent and FAST communication. The building is a 1 minute away from the cable car stop that will allow you to reach the Guggenheim Museum and the Casco Viejo (Old City) very easily. Be aware that this is NOT a hotel or a canonical multi-room B&B, it's a (very good) room inside a flat with own privacy. We would recommend hands down and would definitely return.
