At the suggestion of Correos, we started our Bilbao segment of the Camino del Norte at the Guggenheim Museum and followed the path along the Nervion River the entire distance to Gexto. Gexto Rooms was chosen primarily due to its proximity to the Vizcaya Bridge (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), but was much more! This small hotel seems to be newly renovated with great attention to detail and hospitality. Bathroom was modern and clean and roomy. Bed was very comfortable and linens were of nice quality. Our hosts were gracious, accommodating, and interested in providing a fine stay, which it was! Note for pilgrims: Though not the "official" Way, this alternate route made for an easy warm-up day to begin our hike to Santander. Civil improvements being made to the pedestrian walkway have softened this largely industrial zone and a Lidl supermarket, located about 5 miles in, carried any beverages or snacks you might wish to stock up on. Arriving in Las Arenas early in the afternoon allowed for a relaxed start to our week and time to enjoy the town's beach promenade and sample plenty of pinchos! The following morning, we crossed over to Portugalete via the gondola— an experience that we would've otherwise missed! The Camino's yellow arrow was easy to find on the other side.

Gracious host with good knowledge of how to engage the local area. A cute dog and cat pair to top off a green garden and a pretty home.

Very friendly and warm welcoming hosts! Both Fernando and Belen are the best hosts imaginable. You can feel the love. They are really helpful providing information on the public transport to Bilbao and places to visit. The rooms are very clean - spotless. It is really the best "pied-a-terre" for a couple days in Bilbao. Highly recommemded.

Habitaciones Apartamento B&B Plaza Nueva 8 se nachází v centru města Bilbao a nabízí terasu a bezplatné Wi-Fi. The location was fantastic. We were in the centre of the action above the beautiful square. Kids were playing and people were eating in the restaurants below. It was a wonderful atmosphere.

Had a wonderful stay in Raul's apartment. The location was extremely central. Everything was near the apartment or a short walk away. The apartment was cosy and extremely clean. Bed was very comfortable and there is a beautiful balcony you can drink coffee and sit in. Raul gave great recommendations for pintxos and was easy to reach. Raul also speaks English fluently which is great because my spanish is not good. We loved the opportunity to stay in a real home in Bilbao.

The accommodation was nice and had everything you needed. It is convenient for Bilbao, close to the train station that has a frequent service into the centre and is in a nice area. The host Jose was fantastic, very welcoming and extremely helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

The room had a spectacular view and it was very clean (including the bathroom) with all the necessary utilities. The hosts were more than great, truly friendly and ready to answer queries at any time. The location of the room was really good in order to walk around the city, or for using transportation either for the city or for visiting other places near Bilbao. We highly recommend it!

Burruzkale Etxea se nachází v destinaci Orozko a má zahradu, antialergenní ubytování a bezplatné Wi-Fi. Jen 23 km odtud je Katedrála Santiago. A great stopping off point if heading to Bilbao for the ferry, in a small traditional village with lots of old stone buildings overlooking a river. The guest house and the room are gorgeous, with a fabulous bathroom with high end fittings. The main square a very short walk away has a number of bars and restaurants.
