They don't live in the house, but they are very attentive and arrange any meal you need (the mum cooks really good!) any tour or train ticket. The house is in a quiet area, away from any road or noise.

One of my best stays in India, great price for private room. Very new property with good rooms, terraces, and rooftop. extremely warm hosts Rino, robin, and their mom Mini. They are just so welcoming and helpful, and genuinely interested in interacting with the guests. Don’t miss out on their amazing home cooked dinner spread (order the fish pollichathu cooked in banana leaf!!!!) and wonderful local breakfast too. Rino was also so kind to drive me on motorbike to eat dinner late on my night of arrival. I really felt like I was family in their beautiful home.

At the homestay, each unit includes bed linen and towels. The room was very comfortable and very quiet. The location is perfect, only a short walk to the main shopping street and the sea front. The owners are sooo nice and friendly and made our stay perfect.

Home away from home. We never felt like staying in resort. Kids playing , we sipping tea in sitting area, playing chess, Varma , watching TV, reading newspaper at top view tower. Bed is quite comfortable, bathroom top notch clean . Clean and elegant and spacious. Breakfast is homemade and delicious .

Munroeisland Backwaters Homestay, a property with a shared lounge, is situated in Munroe Island, 44 km from Varkala Cliff, 45 km from Sivagiri Mutt, as well as 46 km from Janardhanaswamy Temple. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Kollam Railway Station is 24 km away. Would recommend this Homestay and munroe island to everyone visiting Kerala! Vijeesh made our time super fun even though we only stayed one night. Do not miss the sunset kayak trip and the sunrise boat trip, such a highlight of our Kerala trip. Munroe island is beautiful.

Soly and her husband are extremely kind, help in any way they can and treated us like family. Their house is the cleanest place I've ever stayed at, with very spacious rooms, amazing view of the forest, hot water and super delicious breakfast. We booked one night and ended up staying 3. A good restaurant just outside for lunch or dinner too. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed :)

The homestay offers garden views, a picnic area and a 24-hour front desk. After the initial hustle and chaos of India, staying at Mountainview Homestay is a welcome place to unwind. Asfal and his friends are friendly and easy to talk to, and they give great tips on what to see and do in the area. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. Waking up to a view of the green trees, with a cup of good coffee is pure bliss. It’s incredibly peaceful, with the occasional playful troop of monkeys on the roof to break the silence, peeking curiously at you as they play. In short, the perfect spot to recharge before diving back into colorful, bustling India. P.S. Asfal also helped us with the next leg of our trip. He arranged a taxi driver to take us to the Alleppey, and along the way shared lots about the history of Kerala and India, tea plantations, and Hinduism. We made several stops and got to try local sweets – highly recommended!

Bella Homestay is well appointed, spotlessly clean uand located in a quite residential area, within walking distance of the quay where all the backwater tours start from. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, and part of the charm of Bella is just talking to these people and learning something about how life in Kerala really works. We really enjoyed our stay at Bella, and if we ever visit Alappuzzha again, we would definitely stay here.
