The guesthouse was perfect in every way. It feels like sleeping at home with a Japanese family (which actually is true). The owner is really friendly. He helped me to find a parking space and explained everything to the littlest detail. When I arrived I got a free mandarin as they are in season now. The room itself was really comfortable and spacious. The beds were not too hard. The kitchen (with free tea and coffee), toilet and bathroom are shared with the other guests. However, since there are only 3 rooms, you almost never have to wait. The location is nice as it's close to the sea and about a 20 minute walk to the city centre and the castle.

Gorgeous property with plenty of space and a comfortable atmosphere. Super close to Arita train station and to local transit. It was very easy to feel right at home. The host is extremely responsive, friendly, and happy to share local knowledge on places to visit around Arita. I would happily stay here again.

Ubytování jsem si opravdu moc užil. Měl jsem bohužel špatné počasí, takže jsem trávil víc času uvnitř, ale hostel je velmi útulný a cítil jsem se tu skvěle. Komunikace byla perfektní a opravdu oceňuji, že jsem po check-outu mohl ještě chvíli zůstat v kuchyni – hodně mi to pomohlo, nemusel jsem čekat v dešti na nádraží. Děkuji!

I booked a room here as I was traveling to Japan to play a Pokemon Go event in Nagasaki. I had a wonderful time in this house and the charming, little town it is in. It’s like staying in a beautiful, ancestral home of a Japanese family. I actually lowered my expectations for a bit because it’s not a hotel, but even then I was surprised by how well-kept, sparkly clean everything is. I shared the house with 3 other guests who are also in Japan to play Pokemon Go, and yet I didn’t see a single strand of hair left in the bathroom, a smidge of stain in the toilet, and I didn’t hear noise at night. It’s family-run and they do everything by themselves. I was coming in from Fukuoka Airport and it took me a while to figure out the trains and the transfers I would take to get to Kashima and arrived late at 8:30PM, it’s way past check in time but even then I had a warm welcome from the owner, Mr Maru. He showed me where the restaurants are, which places to visit, where the nearest 7-eleven is. He even let me in the staff-only area of the kitchen when he noticed that I brought dinner that I needed to reheat from 7-eleven. In the morning I met his older sister in the kitchen and she made me breakfast. She showed me where Yutoku Inari shrine is which I planned to visit on that day. I rented a bicycle at the Hizen-Hama station which is just like 150 meters from the house and biked around Kashima, ate Mikan ice cream, until I reached Yutoku Inari shrine. It is an amazing place. In the evening when I returned the bike at Hizen-Hama station, I went to its Sake bar which serves all the sake this little town produces and I was warmly welcomed even though I don’t speak a word of Nihongo. I tried all the types of sake that they have as I knew I can get smashed and still find my way home because the house is just a stone’s throw away from the station. Overall I had a pretty amazing experience and would gladly visit again.

The owner and staff are really nice and warm people! you can ask them anything and they will try to help you as much as they can. Also they can comfortably speak english so there’s no worries of language barrier if you’re overseas traveler

The best experience I ever had was the host. Grandma was so kind and nice to us and my highlight for this trip was the best because of her. I really had a great time in this accommodation and I will definitely be coming back for the hospitality. I had the best "ichigo-ichie" in her place and I would cherish and remember this journey forever!
