First, he arranged a very good taxi with a professional driver(And also a VERY fair price) that took us from Colombo to his resort. I couldn't join my partner at the beginning of our stay and she was alone for the most part during our stay here. Jazz knowing about it, he and his beautiful family, alongside this beautiful Dutch couple, made sure that she would have the best time with various activity and their warm company. Overall, she really enjoyed her stay. He even managed an expedition for her alongside that couple at night, to find exotic animals. On the last day when I arrived, not only was I greeted with the highest of hospitality, but also an exceptionally delicious lunch(you can trust my taste, I'm an Iranian), which wasn't included in our plan at all. Also in the reviews I saw some people found the route to the beach difficult. From my personal experience, that is far from the truth. The resort is less than 100 meters away from the beach, it's just a simple walk. If I come to Arugam Bay again, I'll choose this place 100%.

Beautifully decorated hotel, with one of the most gorgeous bathrooms I have ever seen. Comfortable bed. Very nice staff and boat safari. Good breakfast and dinner. Peaceful and secluded, with all the amenities necessary. Nice pool overlooking the lake + smaller pool.

Wonderful property and host! Iqbal and his staff were so warm and welcoming! They went above and beyond making sure I felt comfortable and enjoyed my stay! I was welcomed with delicious pineapple juice and a pastry. I ended extending my stay because it was such a warm and cozy place to spend a few days at the beach. Beach access is a few meters away. Iqbal also arranged surf lessons to peanut farm and I couldn’t recommend them enough! Best surf coach I’ve ever had! The room was very clean and spacious with hangers for wet clothes and storage. The hammocks outside each room are a very nice touch and relaxing. Each morning, the breakfast was very good and tasty! Lots of fresh fruit! Whatever you need, Iqbal and his team will take care of. Had a lot of nice chats with Iqbal. He will be missed! Wish I could stay for longer. Will definitely be back to this cozy piece of paradise.

Charitha and his family were great hosts and extremely attentive to all our needs (ready to go above and beyond). The food was delicious, the room was large and clean with an air conditioning that worked almost too well, there is a seating area in the garden from which you can hear birds and witness monkeys walking along the electrical wires. The property is walking distance (30 min) from Owagiriya Natabun Viharaya (Buddhist temple ruins) and as we were on our way Charitha kindly gave us a lift, as well as to another destination later during our stay. Both the father and mother are absolute sweethearts, and are more than happy to sit down with you for a chat (I had a little well needed Sinhalese crash course). From what I can see they are building more rooms/bungalows and a restaurant in the back, but as of February 2025 it truly had that quaint local feel I look for when I travel.

This place is fantastic! Kevin was great. Cooked us dinner the one night which was fab. Asked us if we wanted to have the room cleaned and always stocked cold water in the fridge. Room was modern and spotless. The location is absolutely perfect. Mega value for money!!

Apple is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet in Sri Lanka—if not in the entire world. I’ve never been so sad to leave an accommodation before; it truly felt like leaving a friend behind. Hopefully, I’ll be back soon. Not to mention great breakfast and good quiet location but still very close to the town and the beach.

This was our second time staying here. We had stayed last year and we were delighted there was availability for our dates this year. The room is great. Clean and spacious, and cool (much needed in Arugam Bay). The place is a short walking distance from the main street but is just far enough away from the bustle and noise, and remains quiet and peaceful (rare in Arugam Bay!). The caretaker Musa is a true gem. I love the communal kitchen area. We really feel at home here and will always choose Gypcey when visiting Arugam Bay. Thanks again to the Gypcey team! Book as far as you can in advance here because there are only a few rooms and it gets booked up quickly - as it should.
