In July 2024, we had the chance to stay in this extraordinary place, surrounded by nature. After traveling 3 km on a chaotic track, accessible only by 4x4s and SUVs, we reached Kukummi Lodge, formerly Mackaya Bella Country Lodge. Nestled in an isolated valley, this lodge is a true haven of peace, far from everything. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owners, Bryan and Danny, as well as Amina, our contact before the stay. Seeking to return to their roots, they left their previous life to acquire this property just a year ago. Their attention to every detail made our stay memorable. Located on the edge of the Mdedelelo Wilderness Area & Solitude park (Champagne Valley), the lodge offers superb hiking options. The landscapes are breathtaking, and each hike reveals new wonders. We enjoyed a sunny day hiking, guided by Danny who showed us the treasures of the region. We then explored the central part of the Drakensberg (Monks Cowl), and can say that this lodge is undoubtedly the gem among all those we visited during our stay. This lodge, particularly isolated, is ideal for those seeking to recharge and share special moments with the hosts. With only three rooms at that time, the experience is intimate and personalized ! As for us, we will return during our next stay in South Africa.

We were absolutely blown away by the hospitality during our stay. The cottage was perfect – spotless, cozy, and incredibly well-equipped. It truly felt like a home away from home. Jennifer went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, especially for our 10-month-old son. She thoughtfully provided a cot, baby bath, and high chair, and even went out of her way to prepare breakfast for him – such a kind and personal touch. Speaking of breakfast, it was absolutely divine! The location is peaceful, beautiful, and ideal for a relaxing getaway. We would love to stay again and can't recommend this place enough!

Graceland is a slice of heaven. A very well kept facility with all holiday necessities readily available. This facility has arguably the best view of Drakensberg. Mergan was a very hospitable host and was readily available to assist make our weekend stay memorable. We will certainly be visiting again.

Čtyřhvězdičkový hotel Malachite Manor se nachází v obci KZN nedaleko města Underberg. A very nice hotel in a perfect quiet spot, very charmingly decorated, with a very nice garden. … and a big thank you for the excellent service !

Berghouse and Cottages is situated in a rural setting, high up in the Northern Drakensberg Hills, 30 km from Bergville. Free WiFi is available in each cottage. Unbeatable location, fantastic staff, delicious food delivered to your cosy accommodation; well equipped kitchen and good WiFi. Hot water!!! Easy hikes from the property but it’s a gateway to iconic hikes in Royal Natal national park

Tento penzion nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi.... Great hospitality. Comes with tea, coffee, fresh milk, bottled water. Place was so clean and so cozy. Fully equipped with a TV, wifi, air conditioning. Definitely great 10/10. The attention to detail was everything. From the little treats left on the bedside to the rusk biscuits which were so thoughtful. Super friendly owners. This will definitely be a place I would want to come back to.

Tento penzion nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi.... It’s the perfect gateway spot for family or a group of friends. We had a great time over there. The caretaker, Mavis, made us feel so welcome.
