The two outstanding things about El Chabot are the architecture and the location. I love the building, patio, garden, high ceilings, etc. And I went to the Tren to the Nubes and Las Peñas nearby.

The best hostel I’ve ever stayed in in South America. IT IS ACTUALLY CLEAN! The beds are super comfortable and the rooms actually get blacked out when the blinds are down. There is someone at reception 24/7 and they are super friendly. The kitchen is clean and the a good space for the hostel. They’re still new, so there aren’t any lockers yet but they are getting them fitted, and in the meantime the rooms lock so it’s all fine. The shower was amazing and the best shower/ bathroom experience I have had in SO long. There are also fresh towels, and the beds can be remade everyday, which is incredible for a hostel. I went in low season so it’s hard to say if it is sociable, but I still met people in the kitchen/common area. I was genuinely sad to leave, im sure they will become one of the most desirable hostels in Salta!
