“The only thing good about this place is the great location and it’s cheap if you’re on a budget. It’s not fancy but it will do the trick.”

“Had the best stay ever at Down Under! Such an amazing atmosphere with great people working there. There is always something going on, which made it very easy to meet new people and make friends. The facilities were also pretty good; large and modern kitchen, bathroom and lounge area. Definitely the best hostel I’ve stayed at in Australia so far!”

“First off all, it is cheap. If you have a smaller budget, are a backpacker or just want to spend more money on drinkin' beer - then this is the place for you. Clean sheets and a private bathroom. The pool area is amazing and the gym has a couple of nice machines. There is also a Sauna, however, we didn't try it. It is fairly close to the city centre - where you can drink beer. You can walk into the city and it takes around 15-20 min. You can also uber in for $10-15 or take the tram. The staff is nice and helpful”

“It was one of the best hostels I have stayed in Australia! Well located, close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Good infrastructure: living room with TV/books, kitchen and appliances, swimpool, lift, bike rental, tour agency. Comfy matress, clean sheets, individual plugs and lights in each bed, lockers, AC, rubish, and clean room/batroom. Free brekkie: toast, butter/jam/peanut butter, tea, instant coffee, cereals, milk. In addition, the shape of bunk beds give you a bit more of privacy.”

“Perfect for backpackers, the facilities are in the middle of the rooms so it has a homely feel to it. We were in a 4 bed mixed room and the beds were decent. Great location and the hostel staff are really nice. We were only there for one night but tried to get us involved in the night entertainment they organised. There was a pool and something on every night. Definitely recommend for backpackers and it was decent priced. ”

“By far the best hostel I have ever stayed. I was in a 4 bed female dormitory, rooms were emasculate. On suite bathroom also very clean. I love how the beds are so private, they are also secure so the person above you doesn’t rock the bed. Lovely balcony overlooking the pool, fantastic location and 1 minute away from the greyhound bus stop. Staff very helpful. The hostel wasn’t overly busy but maybe that’s because it is new but I was happy with that as it was somewhere I could relax! ”

“So happy I chose Down Under hostels! One of the best hostels I've stayed at in my time traveling Australia! The place was clean, the staff was friendly and made me feel like family and the brand new showers were a great surprise for a tired backpacker. Tons of new people to meet yet very respectful at night for noise levels. Definitely will be back again.”
