Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

The hostel was fabulous. We loved the kitchen, the living area, the room and the staff. The location could not have been better for us. We were right across the street from the Coastal Rainforest Safari where we went on a fabulous Whale Watching Tour and there was a great dock and walkway right there too. It was all great.

Quiet, clean, first floor, convenient bike storage. Nice bathroom with shower (down the hall). Great hall on second floor with kitchen. Large hall plenty of room. Arriving late on ferry, mgr waited for me and got me into the hostel.

Inexpensive, met our needs, liquor store, sit down intercontinental breakfast, and great location for our hike at Cape Scott. Huge TV and full fridge.

Marketed as a backpackers hostel but was more like a good budget hotel. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly - for example helping us lock up our bikes inside to keep them safe while we did an overnight trip to Cape Scott. I wish we had stayed another night here rather than paying over the odds for a shabby hotel room.

Great location for a solo kayaker. Just wheel the kayak up the ramp and walk straight to the reception. Left the kayak at the back at the rear of the building. There is someone at the reception all night so it was pretty safe.
