The property offers private rooms and shared dorms. Enjoy the pool table after cooking in any meal in the fully equipped shared kitchen, with water purifier.

This hostel is 25 metres from a bus station and 19 km from Montezuma Town in the Gulf of Nicoya. This was my all time favourite hostel! The staff were lovely and it was a great setup that made it super social. Everyone basically got to know everyone so it would be perfect for a solo traveller. In the evenings, everyone would sit around talking for hours. Would 100% recommend!

Akih Pods Hostel has bar, a shared lounge and garden in Santa Teresa Beach. Boasting a tour desk, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The accommodation features evening entertainment and a shared kitchen. I liked the place and the people (stuff included) so much that I expected one night after another. I ended up staying 9 nights and I really enjoyed the time there. The kitchen was so good that I wanted to cook there. It really had everything you needed, also for more complex dishes. So I took my time and cooked a view meals, shared it with the people there and had a good time. The dogs are adorable, even if you fear them normally, they will convince you to love them :D

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
