Very beautiful building. Functional and exceptional in its esthetics. Everything is very clean - the room, bathrooms, kitchen. Great top deck for chilling. AC is working very well. High speed internet. And wonderful staff - really great guys: hepful, supportive, proactive.

This was one of our favourite stays. If you love the hostel vibe, this place is it. The property is beautifully maintained with lush greenery, the bar attracts a mix of locals and tourists, and we really enjoyed the food and drinks. We ended up cancelling another reservation and returning here for a second night. The vibe was amazing on a Saturday night, with great music and people. We loved lounging in the hammocks and playing ping pong. The staff is great, just make sure if you’re reserving a taxi ahead of time, that you ask for a registered taxi, otherwise they may be inclined to give the business to a friend who may not be very punctual, which isn’t ideal if you have a bus to catch.

Everything about this stay was wonderful. The owner was so helpful in helping us book onto a whale tour and find local places to eat. The other guests were all so chilled and lovely. It was our last place on our 5 week tour of central America and was the perfect quiet retreat to enjoy the excellent pool, cooking facilities and nearby beach.

Steps away to the Colonia Playa entrance of Marino Ballena National Park with super convenient and free access to Uvita Beach before 7am. Safely able to stroll the beach at 5:30am and walk the Whale's Tail at low tide. At daybreak, thoroughly appreciated the immensity of the expanded beach and sandbar. Had the park, with the company of birds, the waves, and crabs basically all to myself, except for another person, way at a distance. Many tall trees around the hostel, with howling monkeys as alarm clocks. Saw sloth for two days. Playa Uvita bus stop from San Jose, Dominical or Quepos (not Tracopa terminal or town center) is 10 minutes walk, turning from main road and walking all the way to Playa la Colonia (aka Chaman) park entrance.
