Le Village Montmartre by Hiphophostels

18th arr., Paris

Situated a 10-minute walk from Sacré Cœur Basilica and the Montmartre district, Le Village Montmartre by Hiphophostels features luggage storage and free WiFi in all rooms.

Guide books, maps and tourist information are at your disposal at the reception, which is open 24/24. Moulin Rouge is 800 metres from this hostel and Anvers Metro Station (line 2) is 220 metres from the property. I'll tell you this: this hostel is better than it may appear at first (and I say this after having stayed at more than five hostels in Paris). It's comfortably close to metro line 2. It has a fairly spacious and well-equipped kitchen. WiFi is excellent. You may find the small street (rue d'Orsel) a bit dodgy, but that's just Montmartre; it's fine. Every room has good lighting and heating. There is an outdoors patio area. There is free luggage storage.

The Loft Boutique Hostel

20th arr., Paris

The youth hostel offers guest rooms and dormitory rooms. Twin rooms are equipped with an LCD TV and a telephone. Each includes a bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. Some of the guest rooms also have a balcony. It's the best place to live for solo travellers, amazing staff simply amazing. So kind so humble. They are vert helpful. I had my flight from Paris Beauvais airport, and i missed my means of transport to the airport, returned so late of the check out time. There was a guy with glasses at the reception, he helped me out a lot. He told me where to go how to go and everything about the airport and shuttle services. Very kind hearted guy. My favorite place to stay in Paris, looking forward again.

Hostels. What are they?

Way more than just a cheap place to sleep, hostels are a social way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens or games rooms are great ways to swap tips, tricks and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long, long way since the first youth hostel opened in 1912. From budget 'crash-pads' to five-star 'poshtels', today, hostels are for everybody, so whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll find most hostels are cheaper than a local hotel and far more fun.
