Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Hostels that guests love in Edinburgh
  • Friendly and helpful staff, the room is quiet big and the location is perfect. I slept ok, I could cook my own food in a huge kitchen... What else can I ask for the price paid???? It was certainly way beyond my expectations, specially seeing all those bad reviews in here. I bet there's no cheaper option in Edinburgh and I actually met other travellers who werent very happy with their hostels either, even paying double price... Good choice if you are in a budget and dont have great needs.

  • Great location, very friendly staff, cosy and comfortable. As a hostel, that’s amazing that the staff there will prepare breakfast for you!!! You can left your luggage there after checking out with little charge (much more cheaper than train station).

  • Great location cheap and clean and safe

  • It has a great location, the rooms are new and crispy, it was very quite, plus it gives you a cheap stay, nearby the airport, there is tram link nearby, WIFI was very good. This is real bargain as it allows to avoid terrifically noisy hostel, get a good sleep in a separate room still saving you money

  • No frills hostel for a cheap stay in Edinburgh. Safe and secure. Close to Grass Market but a taxi required to Princes Street
