A great location for an overnight stop on our journey to Scotland. The breakfast was excellent and the lady who served us was super helpful and didn't hesitate to make sure I could have a gluten free breakfast. The Inn is old and full of character and all staff we encountered were lovely. I would say it's an adequate place to for a cheap and cheerful overnight stay.

Being very close to both the castle and train station this hotel enjoys a great location. The owners made me very welcome and staff were happy to recommend places in town. Plenty of cheap parking available too.

Friendly welcome, lovely warm, homely and cosy hostel. The beds were really comfortable, the rooms warm. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. We really enjoyed chilling out in the lounge which was warm and comfortable. I had a great nights sleep too. Great location to explore from. We loved the 300 year old pub - so much character. The landlady and one of the Chef's Mike were really welcoming and friendly. The room was great value for money. A little small and dated but comfortable, clean and safe. It was a budget after all. Beautiful surroundings especially Askham Hall
