Whitby Hostels

Friendly and relaxed – hostels make the perfect base for nomads.

More than 1 million people last month said they'd recommend Booking.com to their family and friends.

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Hotels That Guests Love in Whitby
  • Well above the standards for average youth hostel but well in line with what you expect from YHA establishment in England. The location and wievs of the abby are excelent.

  • One night stay with two other friends all of us on motorbikes which we were able to park outside the front door in a safe location. We shared a 5 bed dormitory with ensuite and it suited us very well with a short walk into the centre of Whitby for good pubs and fish and chips. It is of course cheaper at less busy times of the year.

  • Staff are aware they are running a hostel and there were no "airs" about it, I. E. In some hostels you have staff acting as though they owned the place and were not primarily catering to backpackers, low-budget travelers or the homeless who managed to get together enough money in order to spend the night under a roof and not out in the open. Staff were very down to earth and accommodating, very friendly and welcoming.

  • For the money and location me and partner really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, very quiet for a hostel and we had a great nights sleep dispite it been in bunk beds. The only down side was the awful weather and trying to get down those 99 steps safely and how dark it was, but we definitely stay again.

  • Comfortable beds - ensuite facilities were clean. Great location. Warm welcome when we arrived. The tea shop attached to the youth hostel offered lovely coffee and cake at reasonable prices too! :)
