The Heraklion Youth Hostel vastly exceeded my expectations! For such a low price, I was really just hoping for a semi-clean place to sleep and leave my bags during the day, but I was very impressed by the space, security, and cleanliness. The owner of the hostel cleans every day during the 10:00-15:00 hours for new guests to arrive, and the bedroom, bathrooms, and kitchen facilities were very clean and tidy. Additionally, each guest gets a key to the hostel, their room, and a filing cabinet-type drawer for their bag, so I knew all my pricey souvenirs would be secure during the day. I could always ask at reception for tips on how to get somewhere or what to do on my free day, and on the last day the owner called me a taxi and gave me a small parting gift magnet to remind me of my trip! I am blown away by the service of management and the personal touch they provided to my trip! Also, forgot to mention earlier, the location is very convenient, being near the city center but off a side street, which provided some much appreciated distance from the noise as I had some early mornings and thus, early bedtimes.

i like that They have a very good selection of accomodation, where you can either choose to stay in the dormitory where you can sleep in a bed you can freely choose with great mattress, & sleeping conditions with chargers available as well close to the bed, good air quality in the rooms, & also friendly people there that are also travelers that you can meet along the way:)). I like the price, conditions, availability, & the community surrounding Saint George. This is an absolute hidden treasure in Heraklion, where you can stay with ultra conditions for the cheapest price you will find anywhere in Crete.
