Great location, easy walk from bus station. Clean. Very safe measures with a code to enter each room. Arrived at 2am, easily got in with codes and found bed and towel. Next door to geothermal swimming pool, $8.50, but free for those 67 and older. Good price for hostel in Iceland! Very pleased with my stay.
it was my first time staying in the Hostel for curiousity😄also cheap😅 walking distance to the city and bus stop Klambratum, great location..
- Very clean, especially considering this is a hostel - Great location, only a few minutes walking to downtown area - Rooms were quite spacious - Nice food and drink selection available at the front desk and very cheap for Icelandic standards - Plenty free parking spaces available - Towels and bed sheets are provided for free
Bus hostel is one of the cheapest places to stay in Reykjavik, it's a relatively easy walk into the centre and really well located if you want to go on any tours (they all pick up here) or for the bus from the airport. It also has free parking and was easy to get to by car from the airport. It has a decent sized kitchen and they have expanded their mugs since my last stay which was a big improvement from my perspective (morning coffee is fundamental to my trips). From my experience, it's a safe place to stay on a tight budget.
This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a very positive experience for me. Hostel was in a great location. I especially liked that it was right next door to one of the public pools. Bunk beds were comfy and there was enough space for all guests. Sheets and towels were clean, as were the bathrooms and showers most of the time. Guests were very respectful of each other and the common areas were pretty much silent by 23:00. Would stay again!
Nice atmosphere, great location and good value for a hostel. They also host concerts and other events. Had a good breakfast (not included, but relatively cheap).
The Laekur Hostel is a very good option for budget travelers on Reykjavik, but not for being cheaper than others, it lacks of services. Very opposite, the place is very nice, warm and cozy. You will feel like home and it is very confortable to be in. One recomendation!, the Laugardaslaug is at two blocks from there (a public thermal bath, that is cheap and spectacular).
I loved how cosy and home-like it felt, the common areas were well lit and comfortable to sit and dine in! The entire hostel was cleaned every morning and the staff there were very friendly, especially Kristina who made sure we never ran out of milk for the free cereal, teas and coffees! And I loved how there was a female only dormitory, it gave me enough privacy to feel safe and secure whilst visiting Iceland!
Perfect for seeing Iceland on a budget. Kitchen was clean, and hostel was workable. I’ve been to nicer hostels and air BnBs in Iceland, but this was by far the cheapest.
