We stayed at 2 different Aayu locations while in Penang and this one was our favorite! It's a bit more quiet near Beach Street, which we enjoyed. The location was really good, near to the jetties and food markets. Wi-Fi was good, the bed was comfortable, and the room had plenty of space. There were plenty of bathrooms around, filtered water in the kitchen, and a nice area to hang out in. They also send you some great recommendations for food and sights to see upon arrival.

Sogor Female Dormitory is honestly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! I feel so lucky to have had the chance to stay here for 3 nights—it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Even though I came as a solo backpacker, I never felt alone. I ended up meeting two amazing foreigners during my stay, and we connected instantly. The environment is clean, hygienic, and very well maintained. The washrooms are spotless, the laundry area is convenient, and the public space is super comfortable—perfect for relaxing or chatting with other travelers. This hostel gave me not only a safe and comfy place to stay, but also meaningful memories and new friendships. I highly recommend it to any solo female traveler out there. I’d easily rate it 10/10!

Clean, tidy, comfortable, quiet, modern with all necessary facilities. Dorms have no windows but it did not bother me as they are spacious enough. AC works perfectly. Communication with the staff was smooth and helpful.

The location was very convenient as it is close to a lot of local eateries and bus stops that goes places. It is also close to a lot of the main attractions in george town. The room that I had was spacious and what I expected it to be. Bed was comfortable. The showers and toilets are plentiful in numbers albeit a little bit cramped in my opinion. PS: this place is self check in. They do have someone on site and they do send out a text message on whats app about the password for the main door and the room door. Just make sure you get the text message from them prior to your visit here. Communication is prompt and concise.

The common areas and the room is clean, very safe and budget friendly for solo travelers like me. Tourist attractions are near, the staff are friendly and very responsive. I requested an early check and they were able to do so. Thank you so much I will definitely go back again.

Possibly the MOST helpful and nicest staff I’ve ever met. The location 100/100. Lebuh Muntri is truly the most bohemian street in all of Georgetown. Extremely close to all the major attractions. Quiet at night. The room was basic yet had everything one needs. Special props to EXCEPTIONAL CLEANING!!! Beds were REALLY comfortable. Awesome experience 💯
