The Purple House is situated on a main road, but several miles from city center. You will have several restaurants and convenience stores just across the street. There is also a beach nearby. All of that is within easy walking distance. If you want to go to the city center, you will need to use taxis. It’s not a big deal, they are very easy to get, and Amanda will even give you information for a taxi service you can text directly. You can also rent a scooter, but beware because we saw many bandaged up people from scooter accidents and the hospital bills are $6,000+ Just factor the taxis into the cost of your stay here. The atmosphere is nice. Amanda is really friendly and helpful. She will answer you quickly every time. She wants your stay to be nice. The house has 8 beds, a mini fridge and a kettle, a bathroom, and a main gathering space. When I stayed we had 5 and we had no problem taking turns with the bathroom and we did okay with only cooking instant noodles using a kettle. The only part that was frustrating was trying to keep the main area cooled off. We would get the temperature just right and then the housekeeping would come clean and leave the doors to the outside open for an hour and it would get hot again. If they would just keep the doors closed when they cleaned the house would have stayed cooler. I would definitely recommend this house for women traveling. It felt so safe and it was really nice to have automatic friends. Amanda and her husband have done a great job creating that.

Had a great time at Propaganda Hostel! The location is perfect, the views are beautiful, and the atmosphere is super friendly. Met some amazing people here — it’s the kind of place that turns strangers into friends. Definitely recommended!

Stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it! The place is super clean, cozy, and in the perfect location, close to beaches, food spots and 7/11, but still quiet and chill. I felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time. The vibe is so relaxed, and the people staying here were all super chill. The owner, Aykut, is amazing, really friendly and always around to help with anything. This place felt like home. It’s the hostel I just didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a safe, clean, and friendly place to stay on Koh Phangan!

    Fantastic friendly hostel in a great location. I stayed in the 5 person dorm - rooms were big and clean and the bed very comfy - the bathroom is actually really cool. All the hostel staff are so friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome throughout my stay. There's a really high quality pool table as well! Will definitely stay at Tangerine Dream again - thank you :)

    EVERYTHING!!! it was welcoming, felt safe, great location, very good value for money, the beds were super comfortable, friendly atmosphere but most of all the thing that really made our stay here special was the host, he was so friendly and helpful, he gave us suggestions on where to go and offered to get tickets for events for us. Absolutely cannot recommend this place enough.

    Very friendly staff. Nice chill out area. Comfy mattresses. They've also just opened their very own bar! Great location overall. The host, Boy, helped us out loads with booking cheap scooters and our outgoing ferry. Hugely recommend. Thanks for our stay.
