HI New Orleans Hostel

Downtown New Orleans, New Orleans

Conveniently located in the centre of New Orleans, HI New Orleans Hostel offers air-conditioned rooms, a bar and a shared lounge. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and a shared kitchen, along with free WiFi. The hostel has family rooms. My husband, our two kids and I spent three nights here and we loved it. We were in one of the private rooms, super clean, with private bathroom, smart TV and everything you might need. My kids loved the common spaces and the breakfast area. The hostel is minutes away from the French quarter but it’s quiet and really enjoyable. Highly recommended.

India House Hostel

Mid-City, New Orleans

Featuring an outdoor pool and deck, India House Hostel offers shared accommodations in the Mid-City district of New Orleans along the Canal St. Streetcar Line. This hostel is 3 km from the Fair Grounds and 5 km from City Park. Kristen, Joe, and Devin were amazing hosts. Lisa makes the best food. We were in a great location and in the high season I reckon this place would go off.

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
