Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Hotels That Guests Love in New York City
  • I love bed. Super comfortable. After exploring New York whole day (making like 26 kilometers during the day), I came back at the hostel, lay down and fall asleep straight away, waking up next morning super fresh and relaxed. Also place is amazing, there is subway 2 min from the hostel.

  • Walkable distance to subway. All the main sightseens are on the same distance from the hostel. The staff is very welcoming and ready to help at any time. There is a sink in a room that is great. There are two wc's and two showers on the floor that is very convenient for a block of 8 rooms. Overall it is a great accomodation for a nice price in the centre of New York.

  • Clean, convenient location. Pricey for the youth hostel, but after all it's right in the heart of Manhattan. : )

  • The place is close to the subway stop, very secure and quite professional. It runs activities each day which are usually fairly free, or reasonable value. Obviously New York is very expensive, so the cafe there isn't particularly cheap, but it's still probably cheaper than most places in New York, ditto for the hostel itself. The comedy nights are very good, I would definitely recommend those.

  • It was straightforward, not paying for luxuries I don't need. I wanted a bed to sleep in for a week and thats what I got, for cheap. Pretty close to public transport. The doors lock (better than some cheap hostels). The desk is staffed 24/7 by friendly people. The bathrooms are cleaned very regularly. And they provide the earplugs. And a towel. And I saw one weird insect but no bedbugs, the beds being clean and not uncomfortable. Value for money if you're happy with backpacker accommodation. (I was happy with this)
