it’s so big and clean. It has a great cafeteria and bakeries, the staff are so friendly and helpful! the bathrooms are so clean. The bedrooms are comfortable, even though there’s like 9 or 10 beds per room. it really exceeded my expectations!! also the location is great, you have a lot of supermarkets, diners and bus stops near you. also a subway, and what is great about it is that central park is so close, which I found amazing!!

It was great. Spacious room (for NYC standards), comfy bed, awesome staff. I didn't need to wait to use wc/bathroom. They were super clean, you can use various products from a dedicated drawer. Plus, you have a sink in your room, so it makes things go even smoother. Breakfast was splendid. I'm not used to eating donuts in the morning, lol, but I appreciated A LOT OF yummy fresh berries. I stayed only for one night and moved to another location - I regreted that plan! I'll be definitely booking this one for the whole trip when I come back to NYC

The place is very unique and you can tell that they're caring for this place and its history. I felt the way and idea it is managed is always to make everything work smoothly. As with a place such as this, it needs to be well managed and maintained or it would soon be ruined. Everything is set for the travellers. No local or "permanents" at this place There's also an entire floor with own lounge for women too. Groovy location Les. NYC. Nice areas including the sitting areas in reception..

At a time of year when the cost of staying at a hotel in Manhattan was through the roof, the hostel offered a helpful alternative. The cost, while still expensive, was reasonable, but the facility was well-maintained, the bed comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were clean.

Fantastic location for the price, we really enjoyed the area and felt very safe at all hours. The private bathrooms were good and clean, for a hostel it was very quiet (we were on an upper floor). Very pleasantly surprised that towels were provided in the twin bunk bed room, I hadn’t expected this from a hostel.

I have stayed at this place for three to four days because it was my short trip but I have never seen such a hostel and that too near such memorable locations and if anyone has a hotel or hostel within their less money and less budget. If you want to reserve it, I will recommend it and go with it and it is available at a very cheap price.

The different tours from the hostel were really nice. It was easy to meet new people. Especially if you are traveling alone. You have everything you need there! Also the cafe in the hostel was good and cheaper than some other places. But all in all i really enjoyed the place an liked it. Would definitely come back!

Excellent location in safe area. We were out all day & into evening and just needed somewhere to crash for the nights we were in NY. It did the job. Bunk bed was king single size, little creaky, but slept well on all 3 nights. Aircon old & bit noisy, but good white noise to drown out comings & goings of hostel (not that we heard this). Bathrooms were old but clean. Good to be able to access gym & pool. It was what we expected for the money paid.

It's a cheap an popular hostel and as a female solo traveler I felt mostly safe. The doors open with a card you're given at check in. The patio is really nice and they have a small cafe downstairs. Even though it's the upper west side so it's quite far away from the modt popular parts of Manhattan, by taking the subway you can be at lower Manhattan in 30 minutes which is better than staying at Brooklyn or Queens etc. Also the neighborhood seemed nice and fine, no super scatchy places.

It was a great location just a few stops on the subway from airport, and near all the places I visited. I was very happy with my room and the bed was comfortable. I was happy with the security and safety of my belongings and myself. If I return to New York I will book into West side Youth Hostel again.
