Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Great location. Coffee and bars/ restaurants within walking distance. Street parking was always available. Even a neighborhood Target where I bought a folding umbrella. The hostess was so kind and friendly. I really appreciated the electric fireplace. Was unseasonably cold in late March. Next time I hope to get to walk to the farmers market with Kari and Bruce, her Great Dane. What an experience that would have been! Big thank you for giving me a feel for how the locals live!

HI Sacramento Hostel is SUPERB!!!! It has been a loooooong time since I have stayed in a hostel, but honestly, I felt like I was staying at an upscale Airbnb. The best part besides the awesome staff was their homey hospitality.

The staff was rude and racist and watched on camera as a homeless woman took my screen off our room and was halfway into our room and then was soo cheap to accommodate us the next day but offered us a room that bathroom vent had old toilet tissues stuck in it at $35 a night! The police were called and I identified the bum and she went to jail.

Great hostel centrally located in the heart of Sacramento. Only a few blocks from the Amtrak Station, Old Sacramento and the Capitol. Incredible Victorian house decorated in an original style. Quiet neighborhood across from City Hall. Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Very cute place! The house itself is an old mansion and they have done a great job in keeping the rooms in that style and fashion. I had a solo room and it was lovely. Honestly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in!

Great location for exploring Sacramento. Brilliant view of the freeway and bridge to Old Sacramento from our room but overpriced for the noisy stay. Window was not sound proofed and did not seal so the freeway noise was horrendous. Bring your sound-proofing headphones
