The dorm room was spacious and had good ventilation. The bunk beds were comfortable, and each bed had its own power socket and towel. The bathrooms were spotless and fully stocked with essentials. The hostel is in a quiet area, but a 10-minute Grab ride takes you to the train station. Lila was very welcoming and helped me book transport to Yogyakarta. Highly recommended for backpackers looking for comfort without breaking the bank!

Located in Banyuwangi, 15 km from Watu Dodol, Zzz Ijen Hostel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. I loved basically everything about this property! Great location, very clean, comfy room with aircon, well priced, extremely friendly and helpful staff. You can buy food/snacks for a reasonable price and they have free coffee and tea as well as hot and cold filtered water. Has a nice little balcony where you can watch the rain. Not incredibly social, but it’s also off season so I can’t imagine there would be anywhere more social in the area to be honest. Was clear about the fact that the blue fire at Ijen would not be available the days we were there and the staff was not pushy at all about buying tours, just very helpful. Honestly one of the best price to experience ratios I’ve ever gotten at a hostel, and the perfect place to chill or prepare for a hike. Also one of the cutest cats I’ve ever seen if my life lives here, she is friendly and very funny.

Very clean, comfortable, everything is well-organized in the house, comfortable sleeping places. The owner is very hospitable! Right on the spot, they organized a tour to the volcano Ijen for me, for which I came here. The place is quiet, calm, on the river bank, but there are no mosquitoes. A dream of a perfectionist traveler!😃

The house itself is charming and full of character, with a small, peaceful garden with turtles and golden fishes. The room is small but simply magical. The bed, covered with a delicate mosquito net and soft batik sheets, made me feel like a princess every night. But the real highlight is the bathroom. It’s a pure zen oasis, open to the sky, surrounded by greenery, and so beautifully designed that taking a shower feels like bathing in the jungle. The location couldn’t be better, just a few steps from some of the nicest restaurants and cafés in the neighborhood. If you’re coming to Yogyakarta, don’t think twice; Zen Moon is a little paradise you’ll be grateful to have found.
