Peaceful sorroudings and close to the beach for swimming and surfing! You don't have to be a surfer to enjoy it here, although they offer lessons. Next time i will learn to surf! The hosts here are the best! On my first night i was invited to a local festival, and when I left checked out i realized i forgot my charger, and they promptly shipped it to my next destination! You can easily get here even if you don't have a car! Take the train or bus to Miyazaki, then take a local train that stops right next to the hostel! (just make sure to bring cash to pay the train driver) There's free bicycles to explore the area!

Located in Kumamoto and within 2.3 km of Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, Tudzura features a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. Tudzura Hotel is such a hidden gem. Not flashy, but super charming, dreamy, and incredibly clean. The staff are amazing — warm, welcoming, and you can really feel their sincerity. I loved the sake welcome drink and tasting, such a thoughtful touch. The only downside is that it’s an old building, so the walls are thin. I was woken up at 12am and 2am by showers and laughter — I guess not everyone has the same sense of quiet hours (is there really that much going on after 8pm? in the area? Maybe I’m outdated 😂). Still, I truly love the vibe and the people here. I’d definitely stay again — just hoping fellow guests keep it a little quieter next time.

Situated in Akune, 24 km from Sendai-kō, Shioya Hostel features accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a shared lounge. Very clean, stylish hostel with large rooms that are thoughtfully put together. Hosts were helpful and very friendly. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the area. We were bike touring and they had a large indoor area where we could safely store our bikes overnight. Restaurants within walking distance. Thank you for having us!

Taketa Ekimae Hostel cue has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Taketa. The property is situated 46 km from Crasus Dome Oita, 45 km from Oita Station and 48 km from Mount Aso. this was an unexpected favorite part of our trip! we wished we would have stayed for more than one night! extremely kind and thoughtful staff in a charming little mountain town. loved the welcome drink and a fantastic breakfast in the morning.

Amazing hostel!!! One of the best ones I’ve ever stayed in. Super well equipped kitchen (even spices etc for cooking), very good working desk in the lounge, clean, spacious, quiet. 10/10 😍

Conveniently situated in the Yufuin Onsen district of Yufu, Yufuin Country Road Youth Hostel is located 49 km from Crasus Dome Oita, 2 km from Kinrinko Lake and 27 km from Beppu Station. Beautiful spot in a beautiful place. We can't say enough good things about the owners they were incredibly helpful and so so nice. :)

I really liked the couple that run the place. They keep it so clean and the community room is very user-friendly. It was comfortable as a solo female traveler. It’s a great location, easy to walk to the airport, grocery store, and restaurants. I would definitely stay again.
