Goggle makes it harder than it really is.

Great value. The hostel was super clean, the bed very comfortable and the location great! The staff was extremly friendly and all the processes were really well organised and thought through. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay!

There were lots of thoughtful and free convenience items like a shoe dryer and extra hangers, irons, slacks presser, and cords/outlet converters in each cubicle. The staff were helpful, friendly, and responsive both in person and online.

Unlike many dormitory hostels where it is difficult for even an Asian person of average height to sit up fully in the lower bunk bed, the dormitory at Shippoya offers a generous and welcoming space even for taller guests! Private rooms are also available. Friendly and knowledgeable, Shippoya's owner is able to speak English well, making it much easier for foreign guests to communicate, have interesting conversations, and learn about Japanese culture. Guests can use the washing machine for free, and there is an outdoor space to hang and dry clothes.
