We enjoyed our stay a lot and I can also recommend staying a bit longer in order to fully breathe in the place and its surroundings. It is a very laid back and quiet area but perfect to relax especially after cruising through Tokyo and Kyoto or other crowded places in Japan. We did not want to leave!

The place is beautifully decorated and at the same time super comfortable. Very spacious kitchen with everything you need if you want to cook. Lovely terrace to hang out (and also to easily hang up washed clothes), looking at the 23rd temple Yakuoji, which is lit up at night. Staff very welcoming and space to park bicycles. Super.comfy bed. It is a great place and town to stay for more than a day to have a rest. There is an onsen (faster by bicycle) with the pool in front of the ocean and they serve pretty good food (sashimi included!) and accept cards. There is a natural arch to visit next to this onsen and the town itself is really lovely, it had a special vibe, with the traditional houses and the culture regarding the seaturtles that go to lay eggs. Loved the exhibition of the cyclist couple that is put in the living room.

Set in Yoshinogawa, 49 km from Yakuri-ji Temple, HOSTEL OE offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a shared kitchen and a tour desk, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can have a drink at the bar. This is an old hotel, run by a young couple. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has lots of character. They have spacious tatami rooms, with air-conditioning, a must for Japanese summer. The lounge is very cosy, and you can purchase meals. We spent a lot of time hanging out in the lounge. It is less than a 5 min walk to the train station, and a 7/11. There are also big supermarkets about 10min walk away.

A reasonably stylish, modern, comfortable hostel. The 4-person dorm rooms are well partitioned. Each individual space is private with a dimmer light, a place to charge phones and enough room to store bags and organise belongings.

All units in the hostel are equipped with a kettle. With a shared bathroom fitted with a bidet and a hairdryer, rooms at 4S STAY Awaikeda ikedaonsenyoko also have free WiFi. All guest rooms will provide guests with a fridge. I was in a small room with two beds but no roommate came. The actual "main" branch where the staff work and you check in is not the same as where I stayed. Mine was not staffed but about 1 minute on foot from the main branch. The place looked new, clean and quite stylish. It fit the vibe of the new, young entrepreneurs who want to revitalize small towns by making them more in their image. The building I stayed at had a small lounge shared by the people living there and while it had nice, brand new appliances, they had no real utensils or cups or anything like that. The main branch has a bar/café attached to it which is kind of why I missed it the first time I rode in front looking for my check in spot. The food there was very good and featured game meat - deer and boar to be precise. The staff were very friendly. Not sure about the owner's English as I spoke to him in Japanese.
