This is by far one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in! When you’re there, it feels like you’re staying in someone’s cozy and welcoming home. Almost everyone I talked to including myself extended our stay. Good location, great community feeling with hostel events, free yoga and meditation classes, wonderful cafe etc. i stayed in the female dorm which was so big and comfortable. I love this place!

Super nice staff, Julius is such a nice host. We loved the breakfast where everyone sat together and ate waffles. We also had free dinner one night where there was a BBQ. The hostel is new and super clean – everything felt fresh and well taken care of. The ice bath and sauna were such a cool extra – didn’t expect that and really enjoyed it. Also loved the chilled terrace, great spot to relax and chat with other guests. Overall, just a really good vibe and you can tell everything’s done with care. Would definitely come back! Highly recommend!!!

The Purple House is situated on a main road, but several miles from city center. You will have several restaurants and convenience stores just across the street. There is also a beach nearby. All of that is within easy walking distance. If you want to go to the city center, you will need to use taxis. It’s not a big deal, they are very easy to get, and Amanda will even give you information for a taxi service you can text directly. You can also rent a scooter, but beware because we saw many bandaged up people from scooter accidents and the hospital bills are $6,000+ Just factor the taxis into the cost of your stay here. The atmosphere is nice. Amanda is really friendly and helpful. She will answer you quickly every time. She wants your stay to be nice. The house has 8 beds, a mini fridge and a kettle, a bathroom, and a main gathering space. When I stayed we had 5 and we had no problem taking turns with the bathroom and we did okay with only cooking instant noodles using a kettle. The only part that was frustrating was trying to keep the main area cooled off. We would get the temperature just right and then the housekeeping would come clean and leave the doors to the outside open for an hour and it would get hot again. If they would just keep the doors closed when they cleaned the house would have stayed cooler. I would definitely recommend this house for women traveling. It felt so safe and it was really nice to have automatic friends. Amanda and her husband have done a great job creating that.
