San Carlos de Bariloche is located on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake and surrounded by the magnificent Nahuel Huapi National Park. Perched among 2000-metre high mountains, the town is one of the biggest winter sports resorts in South America. It is the Argentinean capital of artisan chocolate, and mixes Central European influence with native traditions.
Originally populated by different native tribes, the modern settlement grew in the last decades of the 19th century around the shop of the German immigrant Carlos Wiederhold. Its development reached a peak in the 1930s, with the completion of the railroad, the creation of the national park, and the construction of several emblematic buildings. The Civic Centre and the Neo-Gothic cathedral, as well as some famous Bariloche hotels were built to resemble a Swiss village.
The city is one of the most popular destinations in Argentina and a gateway to Patagonia. Hotels, luxury resorts, guest houses, B&Bs and hostels, are part of Bariloche’s large range of accommodation. It has famous ski stations like Mount Catedral, and is also the traditional destination for students in their last year of secondary school.
A 2-hour flight from Buenos Aires to Bariloche Airport is the quickest way to reach the town. If you’re planning a trip to Patagonia, don’t miss the Bariloche hotel deals available on Booking.com!
the amazing views, their breakfast room, they had the best...
the amazing views, their breakfast room, they had the best sushi restaurant with inside or outside sitting area overlooking lakes, mountains and award winning sushi.
getting around was easy we had our own rental car and visited other towns. I would avoid booking the type of room in the old part of the Hotel, they have a new and better section. they do have a well train staff that offers area tours, we drove to different areas ,visiting Cerro Tronador,Villa Angostura,Circuito chico, having more time to enjoy the views. Roads are safe to drive.

The worst in San Carlos de Bariloche is everything that is...
The worst in San Carlos de Bariloche is everything that is sold and offered to the tourists. Every walk you take is better than any paid tour. Not just because by walking around you'll get better views (amazing views by the way) and also overall experiences (get closer to the nature, be able to actually listen the sounds in the woods, do it at your own relaxed times) but also because you will avoid extremely (!!) long queue lines, bad mooded couples fighting, kids crying, dirt and noise...
To sum up, there are so many astonishing trails to walk around Bariloche and you get to see everything you want, that paying for a tour is just a rookie mistake.

We absolutely loved the balcony with the amazing view of the lake, so beautiful, you can just relax and chill on the balcony looking at the great landscape in front of you.
The location was better for exploring Llao Llao and that side of the lake than downtown Bariloche would have been, which is an advantage, especially with the traffic during peak season.
Nice spacious room with a big bathroom and a jacuzzi tub.
Friendly staff both at the hotel and the restaurant.
The location of the hotel is exceptional with a fantastic view of the Lake due to the fact that is located on a hill, so you can enjoy the panoramic views from many of the rooms and from most of the public areas, like the indoors-pool, the bar, reception, breakfast area.
The staff is absolutely helpful, friendly, professional and hardworking.
Breakfast is very nice, lots of delicious products, catering to international guest plus local very nice items
I've travelled through 85 countries and stayed in more hotels than I can count. This hotel is extremely well run. The gentleman that run it anticipate what you will need before you do.
Extreme kind and fair I can't recommend this place enough.
Very secure parking... Which unfortunately is extremely important in this city that pray on tourist vehicles.
Just a wonderful experience. A huge thank you to the wonderful owner and his staff.
10/10.
This has to be one of the most beautiful hotels I've been to. The room was spacious, comfortable and had an amazing open view to the mountains and the lake. This was the first time room service made sense, since the view was breathtaking and you didn't want to leave the room. Everyone at the hotel was super helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Great hotel. Super recommended.
Julia, the owner of the place was willing to help and the hospitality and the level of service were above all expectations.
Hotel is brand new, everything works greatly and it is only 3 quadras from the city center. Very quiet and comfortable location, 3 stores in the vicinity, great sushi place 50m down the road.
Very nice old hotel. It is a little bit anticuated but confortable. Some places and furniture were remodelated other remains original. Common places are very nice, specially the terrace and the living room. The view is fantastic!!!! The staff is very polite. They are willing to help you in whatever you need.
Great location. Close to Town Hall, bus stops to various places such as Cerro Otto, Puerto Panuelo, Llao Llao, Cerro Catedral, etc. Apartment has everything I need, including kitchen and washer/dryer combo. Cooking supplies (olive oil, vinegar, salt , perpper, etc) were a great bonus.
Location!! The hotel is located half a block from the main street (Calle Mitre) and about two or three blocks from the "Centro Cívico". A safe area with lots of placed to buy the typical chocolates, coffee places and restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel is very good.
The hotel is a very good option if you are going to stay in the nature of Llao Llao, next to Bariloche. It is located next to a port from which you can access the lake, there is a bus stop very close by and it is furnished of several commodities (gym, pool, bar, sauna).
The hotel's location is absolutely spectacular. The view from our room was worth every penny we paid for the room. Service was excellent - we called at 11pm that some outlets were not working, and within three minutes there were two men in the room to fix it.
The location was very good right near the waterfront. The wifi was very good in the room and also in the breakfast area. The room was clean. The shower and bathtub were clean and the water temperature remained pretty steady. The hotel felt very safe.
I liked a lot the localization and the staff of the hostel. They are very friendly and want to help you with good information about Bariloche. They have an awesome breakfast, the best that I have in the hostels in Argentina. I really liked it.
They were always kind. When we left the hotel early in the morning to go to the airport, they prepared a boxed breakfast for us to eat at the airport. It was a completely unexpected and surprising act of kindness.
Adriana and her Father were extremely welcoming and very attentive hosts. The room was comfortable and breakfast was all home made and delicious. Perfect location to explore Llao Llao and Bariloche area.
The hotel was really quiet. We had a nice view on the backyard and the lake. The backyard is really peaceful and big. You want to hang out there all day. The breakfast was really nice
Quiet, friendly, and very clean. Comfy mattresses with privacy curtains and lockers. Staff was super friendly. Other visitors mostly from Argentina, all very respectful and friendly.
One of the best travel experiences of my life. Impressive scenery, glorious accommodations, and an absolutely impressive hotel. The best hotel in South America.
The hotel is very well located for anything around the circuito chico, clean and cosy rooms, Adriana is happy to help you with any questions you might have!
