Previously the center of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current center of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.
St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. A vibrant and historical city as well but overcrowded.
A vibrant and historical city as well but overcrowded. The transportation and the historical sites are quite interesting. In that case, you are interested in visiting the city you have to act as a traveler not as a tourist.

I didn’t do much of the tourist things, as my visit was related to family history research.
I could have spent more time on the research and visiting all the archives trying to discover what happened to my ancestors.
The buildings and churches in Vienna are beautiful, if you like cultural events and history it should be on your bucket list.
It’s worthwhile having small change in your pocket, you have to pay 50 / 60 cents to use the toilets in most public places even in McDonald’s you do get a receipt which you can use against a purchase.
There all sorts of food available in Vienna.
Before you go purchase a ticket to use public transport I think a weeks pass is around 17 euro’s you can get passes for shorter or longer stays. Do not travel without a ticket, you don’t have to show your ticket anywhere. However there are undercover ticket inspectors who appear from nowhere to check you have a ticket. ( I imagine it’s a big fine if you are caught without a ticket)

Vienna charmed me with its grand Imperial past. St. Stephen's Cathedral, with its colorful roof tiles, is a stunning landmark. The Hofburg Palace offered a glimpse into the lives of Habsburg emperors, while the Belvedere housed impressive art collections. Thankfully, excellent public transport made getting around a breeze. And for that perfect Viennese coffee and pastry fix, Café Landtmann never disappointed!

I loved listening to the stories about Kings and Queens, and history, or course. The city itself is so clean. I am not so sure about food, but simply because it is close to the cuisine I am used to. If you've never tried schnitzel or goulash, you should do it!
We stayed there only for four days, which is absolutely not enough, because we visited only Schonnbrun Palace (including the zoo) and Museum of History of art and that's it. Go on a tour with a real guide, they are much better than audio guides.
These places were amazing, and we are even planning to come back to Schonnbrun Palace.

Vienna is a lovely city for a short break.
Vienna is a lovely city for a short break. I went for 7 days and it was too long. It is beautiful in terms of the architecture but it is overall quite boring. If you like art museums and classical music then you’ll love Vienna. If not, I don’t think you will enjoy it very much for more than 3 days. Vienna zoo is the best zoo I’ve ever been to and the natural history museum was good as well.

I stayed for 3 nights 4 days.
I stayed for 3 nights 4 days. I had a wonderful time in the city. Visted many places from concerts to Madame Tusauds. Walks for ages around the city. Never knew it was so big and spacious. Sat in gardens with the sun on my face and relaxed. Dined at Central Cafe and slept in a penthouse suit at the Hilton Plaza. Five days would have been better, but my work calls so short but sweet.
We had the most wonderful stay at the Guesthouse Vienna. The location was perfect for us to walk to all the sights and the subway station. The hotel itself was quiet, cozy, and charming. We commented on how we had everything we needed: a central location, comfy bed, hot shower with amazing water pressure, cozy but modern decor, friendly and helpful staff, and a wonderful cafe to grab a bite to eat. The staff were able to hire a clean and comfortable ride to and from the airport. As two women traveling alone, we especially felt safe.
Our stay at Bellevue Hotel was amazing! The room was clean and cozy, the beds were comfortable, the TV and the fridge were working and there was hot water in the shower as well. The staff was exceptionally polite and friendly. It almost looked like they all are genies- we could ask for anything and they would make it possible! The location of the hotel was great- just a short walk from the city center and right across the road from big Billa that's working till 22. Definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Vienna!
The hotel is in a great location - very close to an underground station so it's perfect for exploring Vienna. You can also walk to the city centre from the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by all kinds of shops and restaurants.
Our room was nice and clean - although be aware that the shower is inside the room, with only a curtain to separate the bed from the shower.
Breakfast is lovely - good coffe and excellent bread & croissants. There is free coffee available from the common room all day.
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location! this hotel was absolutely perfect! check in was smooth and efficient, rooms were immaculately clean. the bathroom was great and the shower was spacious with excellent water pressure. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. close to underground and a 5 minute walk from the city centre. Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly, especially the staff in the breakfast room. My partner and I had a fantastic stay in Vienna and loved this hotel!
Really great accommodation. I would stay here again without a doubt. We were directed to a nearby (secure) parking lot was reasonable priced. The apartment is not to far from the city centre. It's honestly alot better than some of the " 4* " hotels out there.
We didn't have the best weather in Vienna (rain/cold wind).. I couldn't wait to get back into the apartment, it was so cosy :-D it made our stay that much more enjoyable.
Thank you for an pleasant and comfortable stay.
I had a wonderful stay at The Tabor Rooms in Vienna. The staff was very welcoming and available, especially when we checked-in where the receptionist was friendly and made us feel comfortable with his big smile. The room exceeded my expectations beacause it was very big and bright. We loved the position and the neighborhood, connected by 10 minutes walk to the city center. I absolutely recommend this hotel beacause we loved our entire experience there. Would totally come back.
It's in a decent location not too far of a walk to the Hofburg. There is a tram station at the end of the Street. It's about a 10-minute walk to the U3 U-bahn which you can take to the city center train station and pick up the airport shuttle train. It's an older Hotel the Wi-Fi is ok. The street is pretty quiet. The breakfast is good. For Vienna I rate it as a good value. In the past I've paid the same for hotel not as good and way farther out so I recommend this hotel.
Great place to stay in Vienna! The hotel is modern, extremely clean, quiet despite being close to the railway station. The room had everything that’s needed for a pleasant stay. The location is excellent - just a few minutes walking distance to the railway station and the main Underground line leading to the city center, and approx. 15-20 minutes walking distance to Belvedere. The area is nice as well, however, a slight minus there isn’t a supermarket anywhere nearby.
The rooms were clean and comfortable
The hotel bar was equally perfect for a morning coffee before setting off, or for an evening drink after a long day of work or exploring.
The location was even better than imagined - it's basically across the street from the Vienna main train station, but the D-tram can bring you to the city center in under ten minutes. Or, you can just walk the ~30 minute route, which takes you past the Belvedere and Karlskirche.
The location was excellent: within walking distance of the old city centre and on the Ringstrasse. Train stations for both CAT and underground were near and were easy to use (for free) with a Vienna City Card. Breakfasts were good, although the tables were on the small side. The hotel is part of a larger building, but that added to its charm. There are good cafe/restaurants, nearby. A very good base for a visit to Vienna.
Hotel was in a quiet and peaceful place. Tram station is only 100 meters away. Underground is 7 mints walking. So very convenient public transport. Also hotel has their own private parking place 15 euro/day. So you can keep the car in hotel parking and use public transport day ticket for visiting all the attraction inside the Vienna city. Vienna city centre is just 3 Kms away from the hotel, if you go by walking.
Nice location even though it is not situated in the heart of Vienna. The closest tram stop services the D route which takes you to the city centre and sights such as the Belvedere Palace and Ringstrasse. The U4 line serves the Friedensbrücke station (which is just a few minutes walk from the hotel) and stops near the Schönbrunn Palace.
The staff were kind, friendly, and very helpful.
Great hotel. The room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was great - everything was fresh and well made with a lot of vegetarian options. The hotel is close to the central train station, so it is really easy and fast to reach the airport. Public transportation in Vienna is amazing, and it took us 10 minutes to get to the city centre. I would highly recommend this hotel
Lovely hotel! Excellent location - in a walking distance of city centre and the most beautiful attractions. Transport station, shops, nice cafes are also nearby.
Nice interior, atmospheric. Need renovation a little bit, but still it's very cosy. Clean cosy rooms.
Definitely will stay here again when visit Vienna.
the hotel is located at Rennweg, close to a train station. Public transport in Vienna is really fast and reliable so it takes about 20 mins to reach the old city centre. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. Good for a short stay. The hotel staff were nice and welcoming. The room temperature is okay.
The hotel is located perfectly. A few minutes from the city centre and in a quite neighbourhood.
The room itself was nice and cozy, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Would def recommend this place if you are taking a trip to Vienna and don't want to break the bank.
The hotel is in a very good location, close to many train station and Vienna City Centre. The breakfast was very good and we really enjoyed the lovely terrace.
It was a bit hot during the first night, but when we asked the staff for an extra fan, they provided one.
This is a lovely hotel, with great staff and located very conveniently to go in/out Vienna city center.
The night staff was very accomodating, and helped me and my toddler with everything we needed (warm milk, crib, even a teddy bear!)
Great location withing walking distance of both the city centre and Vienna Central train station
Clean and spacious room that was prepared even before check in!
Super kind receptionists able to speak many languages
Good value hotel
Everything was amazing about SO/ Vienna. Great location, just a 5 minutes walk to the city center, staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was top notch food, we had an amazing stay at this hotel.
