The municipality of Kaumberg in the district of Lilienfeld is located at the source of the river that gave the Triestingtal its name and directly on the "Via Sacra", the pilgrimage route from Vienna to Mariazell. In Kaumberg you will find the Araburg at 800 meters above sea level, the highest castle ruins in Lower Austria. Well-known excursion destinations are the towns of Alland and Mayerling, the mountain region of the Vienna Woods, criss-crossed by many hiking trails, the Myra Falls, the imperial city of Baden with the Roman thermal baths, the Heiligenkreuz Abbey and, of course, the federal capital Vienna.
