Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.
The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.
Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.
The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Scarborough beach- The sand was so soft and was lots of space for everyone but did find abit of rubbish on the beach, a sign would of been very helpful to say there is a drop off near the waters edge as I had to jump in with my clothes on to save my daughter from drowning was very very scary, as it was our first time here and didn’t know this, a sign would of been very helpful for us and to prevent this in the future for others.

After not visiting for 30 years, I was pleasantly surprised by how well Perth has grown up.
Busier than it was before, of course, but not so busy that I wanted to leave straight away, like a lot of cities I visit.
Generally cleaner than most Australian cities, easier to get around without a car.
People ( with a few unfortunate and glaring exceptions) were welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Green spaces abound, and there were enough attractions to keep us busy, without being overwhelmed.
Great dining choices right across the spectrum from cheap and cheerful to cordon bleu. Check out Alfred's Pizzeria for delightful pizza, great beer.
Capped off with glorious white sand beaches, and crystal clear ocean water.

Perth city is lovely and laid back.
Perth city is lovely and laid back. There is a lot of run down parts of the city but if you stick to the main malls and the jetty area you would be ok. WA coast is phenomenal and I highly recommend seeing the coastal suburb of Cottesloe and venturing out to Rottnest Island.
I would like to come back and see the whole WA coast from Broome down to Esperance

We loved Perth and didn't need a hire car we used the free 'hop on hop off' CAT bus system and the trains and ferries to South Perth , the Zoo and Rottnest Island. The infrastructure and buildings are a delight and the trains system and staff are first class.

Perth was lovely, we went for an Engagement in Mullaloo and stayed at Joondalup Resort which was great. Went to Scarborough for the day which was also nice. We went the highway and scenic route and both ways were traffic free. Staff were lovely at the Sandbar Scarborough and beaches and parks were clean. Uber drivers were nice and waiting time was 5-7 mins max. Mullaloo Hotel had great food.

The city and beaches are beautiful, loved the sunsets from the coast. I stayed in Scarborough and loved the beach and neighbourhood there. I rented a car and it was easy to drive around to places of interest. I loved The Pinnacles. I also got to see Sculpture by the Sea. I went to Rottnest Island, however didn’t enjoy it as much as my stay in Scarborough.
The hosts were responsive and thoughtful. The apartment was well stocked with everything one would need for a comfortable stay. Bath towels provided were thick and fluffy (5 star hotel quality). A big plus that parking is provided.
Netflix was a hit with the kids. They loved the place so much they wished the stay didn’t need to end. Thanks to the hosts for the welcoming stay and we will definitely be back next time when we are back in Perth.
Amazing hotel for traveling with multiple family members. Kitchen and laundry facilities made it very easy to travel with a young child. Cot and high chair provided were very handy.
Near a lot of very interesting restaurants and supermarkets that make it easy to stock up. Parks very good and walking distance, and also very close to the CBD for work and business events.
Very good cleaning services, very important with a toddler.
The hotel location was great. just on the edge of the Central sightseeing, it's just a 5 minutes away from shopping area including food, but not too crowd. The hotel was well maintained. super clean, like new. the access to public transport is excellent, CAT bus is just in front of the hotel. Perth central station is just 5 minutes away.
The room felt larger than your typical budget city hotel and was very well-equipped (kitchenette, microwave, laundry services, work desks) which made our stay in Perth easy and enjoyable. The staff are lovely and helpful and the hotel is conveniently located allowing us to walk to the quay and anywhere else in the city.
We love this hotel, our go to place to stay when we are up in Perth visiting. Good location, their facilities are modern and clean. The room is spacious with comfortable beds. Great pool and staff are great! They also have a buffet as well which is only $25 per person for all you can eat which is great.
We checked-in after opening hours and the service to get our keycard was great. The room itself was small, but it did the job for our stay after arriving into Perth late. This hotel isn't spectacular, but it is decent enough, not noisy, quite clean and there is friendly staff.
The room was well appointed, very clean and in excellent condition. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was a 2minute walk to the main CBD of Perth and 5 minutes to railway station. There were buses that pulled up outside the Hotel.
The property is branded new, the most affordable in Perth, having great rooms and facilities, great staff and the best food and coffee. You cannot ask for more- everything what you need is in that hotel. My honest recommendations!
It was new compared to other dated 4/5 star hotels in Perth. The parking charge at $40 a night was a complete rip off especially since using a car to get around becoz of poor public transport is a necessity in Perth.
We liked the location. We could reach the center of Perth by feet in just 10 minutes. Or take the free CAT bus to get around. The stop is just in front of the hotel.
We had a big room with wide and comfortable beds.
Well-renovated self-contained apartment. Great location, exactly as advertised. Good basic set up for people who travel to perth regularly and don’t need a fancy hotel.
Location is excellent for access to Elizabeth Quay and ferry to South Perth.
Close to a range of bars, cafes, and restuarants to supplement hotel facilites.
