“This is a guest house on a hill overlooking the bay - perfect to watch sunsets from the verandah. A beautifully appointed modern house with an artistic flair, wooden polished floors (you are expected to take off shoes), a huge contemporary kitchen free for all to use, a nice TV room and plenty of places to sit (upstairs verandah, downstairs garden), containing only 6-7 guest rooms, the hosts come in, also prepare a continental breakfast and interact with guests in an unobtrusive way but they do not live there. The rooms have a comfortable bed, a nicely tiled smallish bathroom and a few pieces of tasteful modern furnishing but they are more on the sparse side (clothes rack instead of a wardrobe & no seating area) - they are comfortable but guests are intended to linger and interact (if they wish so) in the shared spaces. We spent evenings in lively conversations with other interesting travelers. It is only 10 minute walk downhill to local shops and restaurants.” Read more

“The owners are very hands-on and personable. The weather cooperated until the last day which made the large deck a pleasant place to relax. The owners make a practice of employing younger adults to help maintain the place in exchange for a free place to stay. It's cozy and convenient to the small tourist town of Airlie Beach, so no car is necessary unless you're traveling in the area. The view of the bay and local area is very nice.
