Very pretty area but roads dangerous in the wet weather. We left the area early the next morning for Bright and could not get a coffee anywhere, all 4 places were packed and the info centre told us it was a 50 minute wait! Chose this time of the year for the Autumnal colors and it did not disappoint. The scenery is fantastic at any time and it's close to ski resort at Falls Creek. Lots of day trips, hiking and walking trails.

Mount Beauty as the name suggests is a beautiful spot with stunning views of Victoria’s highest peak Mt Bogong . Falls creek is a 30km bike ride or drive up the mountain. Mt Beauty has a bakery , cafes , supermarket and pharmacy. It’s never too busy and you’re surrounded by lovely hills .

It was a comfortable place for a one-night stay, well appointed room, and quiet in the main. However, there was no sign, at any time of any staff and the reception was not attended at any time we were there. Mount Beauty is easy to get around, but quiet in the off-season. It seemed only one place was open for an evening meal - a bit of a walk from the motel.AlexAustralia

Staff are really friendly and discreet. Also, I took the opportunity to use the breakfast service this time around which was really convenient for me on my last morning. 10 mins walk to the pool and the supermarket and different restaurants/bars just a stone's throw away (the open ones change each day)

We mentioned dinner, and with the time of year Jenny mentioned there many be limited options and jumped on the phone to confirm I've of the local pubs was open and organise a time for us... This really was above and beyond!! The hand made cookies was a nice touch as well, and didn't last long!!
