Bicheno was the perfect stop for my family, after Port Arthur we stopped here for the night and enjoyed the Penguin tour, Wildlife Animal Park and the blow hole. After a long day it was great to be able enjoy a BBQ followed by a leisurely stroll down to the white fine sandy beach and relax with Diamond Island as the perfect back drop.

The location was great - we didn't realise we were allowed to access the beach through into the paddock as it said private property. Later, we read in the booklet supplied that this was allowed. Maybe make that a bit clearer as we ended driving into town and would have liked to have gone down at dusk but missed our chance as we only stayed one night. Other than that, it was terrific. Enjoyed the DVDs!

Beautiful cottage. Incredibly cosy and comfortable with a wonderful night sky view (we saw the Milky Way). Would love to stay again.

Our chalet was more spacious than I had expected and had everything we needed. Self-check-in worked well. There is access to the beach, via a field, through a gate in the neighbouring chalet - if you go at dusk and head slightly to the right to some large white rocks, you can see penguins making their way up the beach (though we needed a good pair of binoculars to make out the shadowy images).
